1st Trip October 2015 - Where to start??

We are taking our children (15, 9, 7) to Disney in October 2015 for the 1st time. There are 5 of us in total going. Where do we begin as far as hotel/package discounts, Free Disney Dining, etc?

Any direction would be greatly appreciated. :)
