cast: me, dh, DD 5, DD 18 mos & my mom
we planned on hitting MGM for our 2nd park day- it was beautiful out & this time i made sure to pack the ponchos just in case! (though we never needed them again for the entire trip) we got to MGM fairly soon after opening & headed straight for fp for ToT - then we got the "brilliant idea"- to use my mom & DD's passes to get fp for RnR- we werent thinking that maybe my mom & DDs would want to hit a show while we did the rides. again- learning lots of things on this trip! LOL. so we got fp for around 11 & had plenty of time to kill. there really wasn't much we wanted to see so we did a lot of just wandering- we went to HISTK playground which was awesome & the girls just loved it! took lots of great pics. we ran into a ton of characters with no lines (minnie mouse was one of them so that was pretty lucky i thought!) we got the girls & my mom settled with some food & headed over to ToT (i had no idea it would take so long to get through it on a fp- probably about 15 min in line) it was AWESOME well worth the wait- i had never been before & it was definately beyond my expectations. next we headed over to RnR where we proceeded to wait in the fp line for a good 30 min. (the ride broke down i guess) and DH didn't want to come back - once the line got moving though it was pretty quick. how people ride this multiple times in a row i will never know!! i have a pretty strong stomach but this was a bit too much for me. i spent most of the ride with my eyes closed trying to talk myself out of throwing up. even DH was impressed & that is hard to do! after that we met up with my mom who had gotten seats at Beauty & the Beast which was really cute. she wanted to do the movie ride before we left so we headed over there & decided she would be the only one going on it since the girls were pretty restless by then- saw lots & lots of characters & it started to get quite crowded- we decided to go home & rest the girls, cool off & head over to MK for our first real "ride time" there & i'm sure we missed a lot in MGM but we were excited to get to MK....
my plan of attack for MK was to hit fantasy land & toon town during the spectromagic parade & wishes (since we'd already seen them) well MK was absolutely mobbed. we headed to Fantasy Land & decided to go on the carousel first (of course the music wasn't working) the line was about 20 people long so i figured this would be cake- i'd get some great shots of the girls etc. well my mom & DD Alex get on the same horse, DH & DD Madison get on the same horse i am right behind them headed for the horse in the same row when a woman -not a child or teenager but a WOMAN plows me over to get on this horse. i figure no problem, i'll sit behind them- a group of rather hysterical adults (including men this time) rush the carousel & one literally sat on my hand to get on the horse before me! i was in shock. this is the happiest place in the world??? this is what i've been waiting months for??? by now there is no hope of sititing next to the girls so i tried to shake it off since we were there for the kids Just before the carousel starts the woman who plowed me over in the first place jumps off the horse like it's on fire & goes screetching towards the other end of the carousel. i take my chances that it's not actually on fire & jump on. i ended up getting some great shots anyhow. with the carousel behind us we headed for dumbo which was a pretty short wait (10 min maybe). Alex wanted to ride with my mom again so DH, Madison & myself figured we'd get either behind them or in front of them - sadly again the mothers of the world unite in this "happiest place on earth" where they proceed to push, shove and scream MY CHILD WILL BE ON THE BLUE DUMBO!! i'm just thankful we lived through the experience. the girls enjoyed the ride & that was what counted but my disney magic feeling was wearing off quickly. there was a 15 min wait for mickey's philhar magic so we went there for the sole purpose of terrifying madison with such loud noises. of course i had remembered the ponchos but forgotten the ear plugs! that is one loud show & madison spent most of it with her head burried in my shoulder whimpering while i blocked her ears. ( it was a done fabulously though- highly recommended) mom insisted we do it's a small world next & by the end of that we needed to eat. on the way to get some food we crossed paths with spectromagic again which my mom insisted we watch AGAIN which blew my plan of attack- i was prepared to alter it for my girls but not to watch a parade we already saw- so we watched the parade while the night grew longer & THEN we had to eat- it took us so long to agree on a place to eat that i just wanted to go back home & i knew the fireworks would be starting soon which would send madison into another fit of terror- but mom won again & i not dealing well with this change of plans got crabby. we watched the fireworks AGAIN while madison spent the evening with her head buried & ears blocked. the magic was definately gone.
