OK, we are thinking of a trip to Disneyland. We have never been there so we are totally new to this. I have been researching hotels near DL. WOW, so many to weed through!!!! :earseek:

We are thinking of going this August. Two reasons, DL's 50th birthday celebration & second my son's birthday is in August and we are thinking of going his birthday week.
Is there anything special to do at DL for my son on his birthday?

How are the crowds at DL's in August? We are thinking of going Aug. 7th-Aug. 13th with only spending 3 days at DL, which would be probably T-W-TH.

Is 3 days enough to see at least most of everything? Are their fastpasses at DL?

We have been to WDW 3x & LOVE it there. We would like to see Disneyland especially since this is their celebration year, but I will be honest & say this is a budget vacation as we are having for returning to WDW in 2006 for the holidays!

August crowds are pretty big and it's usually super hot (august is usually the hottest month around here).

You can do the Happiest Birthday's on Earth celebration at the Plaza Inn. Mickey and Minnie show up and everyone gets their own cake to decorate.

You can probably see most everything in 3 days and, yes, DL has Fastpasses.
