Day 4- Wednesday, June 5

The wonderful cast 33 yo DH and DW

13yo DS, 8yo DD and a 5 yo DD

So on with our GREAT VACATION!! So..where was I...oh yes....We went ahead and drove over to the Contemp. to Chef Mickey's. The plan was to leave the car until that eve or afternoon.....BUT nope there is a 3 hr limit to parking unless you are that resorts guest...drat...Oh well....So we arrive at 7:15 for our 7:30 PS and have our pics taken....ressie slip cross matched and wait to be seated....and wait...and wait.... at 8:15...(I've tried to be magical without food long enough) I slip up to a cm to ask when we might be seated...she was very nice...2 more parties ahead of us...(sheesh it's a good thing. We are wastin' away to nothin' over here;) ...oh ..about 8:30 we are taken to our table....I have to say ...I loved the characters but the food....well...it was not as expected...we all tried different things and everything was cold..it looked good...but...ugh....so anyway...we caught all the characters...Mickey..Minnie..(she was FAB!!) Chip and Dale, Goofy..they were great!! I will mention one more thing...the waitress...as my 5 yr old put it..."was not having a magical day" that was to say the least....We or should I say "I" was disappointed in Chef Mickey's...I might try it again...but ya know it was really bad...if it was just the food...or just the service you could almost let it go..but both just makes for a bad experience.

Anyway...our day greatly improved!! After Chef Mickey's we hurried back to park the van at the cabin and jumped a bus for Animal Kingdom. We got to the park about...10:30..11 something like that...what a colorful place!! We say quite a few characters Princess Ada..and Flick...Jungle Book guys..the street shows in Africa were awesome....our girls were asked to help with the drums but they were too shy...(there's a first time for everything).... We did the safari...which cannot be described in words...are you sure we were still in Disney World??? We did the trail walk to see the gorrillas...they were sleeping in the shade and who said WE were smarter?? We did the Dinosaur ride (yikes) I even closed my eyes!! Now, I need to add that we all started to ride this together....our son's seatbelt wouldn't hook right so he and I had to get off....that left my DH with the 2 little ones...needless to say......if it made me close my eyes...I can only imagine their response....The highlight of my day was the Tarzan Rocks Show...WOW that was great...we were having such a good time we forgot to take pics!!! We had palnned early on that we were going to go to Epoct on this day also...so we headed for the exit....We were soooo hot....well no wonder, the bus driver said the heat index was 104....holy cow!!

At Epcot....our first destination was food....and we really didn't care where. Then....we walked around..the kids were tired... we were tired...We wanted to do Test Track....no FP's...line was toooo long ...so we decided to do Honey I shrunk the Aud...well...ya know that little daredevil I told you about....Me...and both of the DD's were really to get the heck out of there....the mice......yikes!!!! Anyway....we decided to do Epcot again another day...it was just WAY too hot....so what did we do??? We mosied our way over to the boardwalk to Beaches and Cream......by this time it was about 5:30....talk about mean parents.......we MADE our children eat ICE CREAM for dinner....(gasp) It was SOOOO great!! "this is just way to cool" If you have never been to Beaches and Cream....you really must go...Later...after milling around a bit we headed for the cabin and a swim.....

we loved Dinosaur but it scared the bejeebies out of me too....we laughed about it afterwards. AND heat in Epcot is worse then the other parks....it is always hotter there for me...thanks so much for your report......

Sorry to hear that your visit to Chef Mickey's was not up to par. We went for dinner and had a blast. The food was not the greatest but it was at least warm and our server was excellent. Like you said, you just can't beat the characters :D . I just love AK too especially the safari. It is definately an experience not just a ride. Ice cream for dinner? Sounds good to me :).

It's funny about the parking limit. Sometimes they enforce sometimes not. Ice cream is one of the basic food groups along with brownies and pizza. Glad your had such a good day.

Great trip reports. Thanks for writing them !!!!

Did I miss day 5?????

Hi longracing:)
Really enjoying your trip report as we will be first timers to WDW and FW in mid-July.
How have you found the transport? I notice you use your car a lot, did you try the transport at all? I have only read the last post so forgive me if you have mentioned this. I will try to read the other as soon as I can.
One other question, What have you found to do in FW which you would highly recommend?
Actually 2 have you eaten in Trails End buffet?
TIA
Shirley

Sorry guys I have been working WAY TOO much...and I will post the rest of our fab vacation soon...I promise!! To answer a few questions....We found the transportation to be great...but then again we didn't know any better :D ! No really...the only time we drove anywhere was to make a VERY early PS at Chef Mickeys and when we went to Sea World. Disney's transportation was great (IMHO). And about Trails End.....it is one of Disney's BEST kept secrets. The food was wonderful!!!!!!!! Great prices, great service...excellent food....(but don't tell anyone;) ...) Be sure to try the pizza at Crockett's Tavern...the pieces are bigger than an adult's foot!!!
