1st timers: Eastern Caribbean

We're getting ready to book our 1st cruise and would like some advice. We're planning a Jan '12 cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. We'd definitely like to participate in the door magnets and fish extender activities. We have 2 kids; they'll be 6 and 7 when we set sail. Would love some pointers and advice for how to get that started. Also, we're not sure what type of room to book. Are the balcony rooms that much better or is a large portal window comparable? Does it matter which deck we're on? I noticed there's a significant price difference for higher decks. Also, we're military and will be celebrating my husband's return from Afghanistan. Does anyone know if Disney Cruises have military specials? The woman on the phone wasn't very helpful. Thank-you and looking forward to our 1st cruise!

I think you have made a great choice and you will have a fabulous time! I would highly recommend a balcony if you can swing it - we loved ours!

Thanks, I'll look for it. I actually put a room on hold that doesn't have a balcony, 7th floor near the front of the ship. But early morning coffee on our balcony sounds enticing. Maybe I'll reprice... Thanks again!
