Hello-

We will be going to Disneyworld for the kids for thefirst time in December. We have the dining plan and I can call and make my ADRs on June 12. Now, I have NO idea on where do start. My question is, is there a list of resturants that I would need to make ADRs for? There will be 6 adults and 4 kids, 6, 4, 2, 2. The only place that I know we want to goto is Chef Mickey and no princess ones (all boys). Also, I have NO clue as to where the resturants are located.

Any suggestions on ADRs would be great.

Is there a book that someone can suggest?

Help!!! I am clueless about this.

Michele

You will need to make ADR's for every restaurant you want to go with the exception of a few in Downtown Disney

If you want to eat somewhere in the parks, you need to make an ADR

There are a lot of great books. I suggest buying the Unnoficial Guide to WDW or subscribing to Tour Guide Mike (www.tourguidemike.com). There are lots of useful info there.

Crystal Palace at MK is our MUST!!! Pooh and Piglet at breakfast.

I love Liberty Tree Tavern at MK. - The food is pretty good. The location is good for us. It is COOL after a hot afternoon. There are characters and stuff, but that is the least of the draw for us - just an added bonus.

At Epcot - we Like Marrakesh. But I know it is not for everyone. We are also trying Biergarten. Both have decent food and entertainment. So a Plus.

MGM - Hmmmm... we haven't really loved anything we have eaten there. The standout has been Sci-Fi (we did it years ago), but more for the ambience than the food.

Animal Kingdom - Eh... haven't eaten there other than the snacky type stuff.

Outside the parks We have done 1900 Park Faire for breakfast. It was really good. The characters we saw were amazing, but they don't sound like the same ones we saw. We had the Mad Hatter and he was a real hoot.

Also, my daughter talks about Ohana from her trip when she was 3. She loved it.

I agree with the pps about the Unofficial Guide and allears.net. Those two are great sources. I would also check out when EMH are. We sometimes plan our dinners and/or breakfasts depending on where we might be going in early or staying late. I would also look at a ton of the menus to figure out what food you would like.

Some suggestions of places we refuse to miss:
Crystal Palace (breakfast) at MK
Boma (dinner) AKL
Kona Cafe at the Poly

Most CS we don't really plan out in advance. We normally have a few in mind that we have heard are good. But, we normally just grab them when we get hungry.

Are you on reg or deluxe dining? Here is our list for Nov/Dec with 6 adult and DS10, DD7.

Our ADRs so far (we are on Deluxe Dining):

Breakfasts:
Crystal Palace (8:30am before park opens for pictures in front of castle without others in the photo. )
Boma (AKL) I added after reading this review, yummmmy! http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1771361&page=3
Chef Mickey's (DS bday)
Ohana (Poly/Lilo & Stitch)

Lunches:
Coral Reef (Epcot)
Beaches and Cream (Beach Club)
50's Prime Time (MGM)
Wolfgang Puck (DTD)

Dinners:
Cape May Cafe (Beach Club)
Teppan Edo (with Candlelight Processional)in Japan
Whispering Canyon (Wilderness Lodge, great fun for little ones, pony races, loudness is encouraged)
California Grill (to watch Wishes, top of Contemporary)
Tutto Italia (Italy)

I use Allears.com, disboards and Passporter.

Hope it helps.

I recommend Crystal Palace for breakfast and LTT for dinner at MK, Garden Grill for lunch or dinner at Epcot, and Coral Reef if you like seafood, Ohana and Kona at the Polynesian, and Boma at AK Lodge.

we really enjoy ohana's at the polynesian. ( the kids 2&5 love the coconut race and the food was wonderful

we also enjoy crystal palace in MK. We thought they had the best food buffet and Chef Mickey's. The kids were entertained the entire time.

We also enjoy whispering canyon at he wilderness lodge. The kids loved the horse race and the food was really good.

We also always eat at 50's prime time cafe. We haven't really tried anything else in MGM (except the pizza place if your kids like toy story the pizza place is really good for lunch)

and the garden grill at epcot. The food is good but not great however my boys love chip and dale and the rotating restaurant is pretty cool. (and they have a decorate your own cupcake for dessert for the kids)

I would definately recommend allears.net for a look at the menus.

Some of our favorites are:

1. Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club - breakfast and dinner buffets are both excellent; characters at breakfast only (they are dressed in beach wear); very fun :dance3:

2. Ohana's at the Polynesian - served family style to your table (all you can eat); Lilo and Stitch characters at breakfast; dinner doesn't have characters but it is fun.....there are coconut races for kids ;).

3. Wispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge - dinner; you can order individual meals off the menu or get the "skillet" that is served family style to your table (all you can eat); silly antics and playing around by the waiters/waitresses makes it a fun evening :cool1:

4. Kona Cafe at the Polynesian - awesome prime rib and filet :thumbsup2

5. Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge - buffet; excellent food with a variety of items for every taste :thumbsup2 I've heard breakfast is very good as well, although we haven't tried that yet, but plan to on our next trip:)

Those are just a few of the ones we enjoy. You can go to www.allearsnet.com and click on dining and you can pull up restaurants along with menus :goodvibes. You are going to love Disney in December :santa:. The decorations are beautiful every where you look. Good luck and happy planning :yay:. Have a great trip and enjoy Disney at Christmas time

Thank you all for your great suggestions. Now the planning and picking starts:goodvibes . I appreciate all the replys.

Thanks,
Michele

My family is not going till March '09, so I am still learning the lingo. I am starting our plans now because I see it is not just packing and taking off. Thanks for all of the advice.
