Hi,
I have never been to Disney Florida although have to to Disneyparis a few times!!
I read these boards all day so thought i would price up a trip to Disney for 2010 just to get a rough idea on cost etc, although i have not got a clue about:
Park Tickets,
On resort/off resort etc
Ive managed to get my head around the dining plan as they have something similar in Disneyland paris.
So i got quoted via Disney UK

2 ADULTS 1 CHILD
7 Sep/19Sep 12 nights Gatwick/Orlando Virgin flights
Disney Port Orleans french quarter
Free dining plan but have upgraded to the dining plan
Inc disney express,
7 day premium disney tickets
Really do not want to be drving abroad, so no car inc in price
Total £3243.65

Is this a good price? im very unsure of what tickets are needed? if we booked would like to go to theme parks, waterparks etc, child is 10.

Thanks

Hi
I am a big fan of offsite hotels and dining but the offer of free dining is a good one and its tempted us back onsite again this August.
As its your 1st trip and not wanting to drive (although I highly recommend trying it, easier than home) I would go with onsite.
Your options are take a package like you have priced up or book the flights seperate, You can book the hotel, free DDP and tix thru Disney.co.uk for £1,845 or for an extra £60(£1,905) get 14 day tix instead of 7. That leaves your flights in the package costing £1,398.65. Sept is low season you should find direct cheaper but it means waiting and spending time searching every day until you find the right price. Another option is indirect flights, I would be looking for under £1,000 in Sept so at least £400 saving but again its a waiting game.
If you are happy with the package price its not OTT but its not as cheap as poss, depends if you want to book and get it done with (most do on their 1st trip) or wait and save money.
The hotel itself works out at £99/night incl food for all 3 of you, not a bad deal, just not as good as this years prices unfortunately.
If tied to Disney for dining plan I would probably pay the extra £60 for 14 day tix.

Just looked at booking thru Virgin holidays
7 day tix
Holiday price:£3593.00
Online discount:- £297.80
TOTAL:£3295.20
Book via Quidco for 3% cashback (£98.86, less £5 if new memeber)
Total £3,196.34

14 day tix
Holiday price:£3638.00
Online discount:- £302.30
TOTAL:£3335.70
Book via Quidco for 3% cashback (£100.07, less £5 if new member)
Total £3235.63

If you are doing the Dining plan I would definatley get the 14 day tickets.

Other thing is I may be temped to wait to book as Disney has released free dining for 2010 VERY early this year so I would expect that there may be better offers to come if things don't pick up in the economy ;)

Normally free dining is realeased in August-november for holidays the following August/September. So my guess would be if they are going to have better offers it might be around that time :goodvibes

If you are looking to do Universal/Seaworld etc I would suggest a car - driving in the states in much nicer than driving here! Personally we always have a car even though we stay onsite.
