So we just broke down and got our annual passes- we are going in 2 weeks for a little mini-vaca--for my Bday weekend..
I got reservations for us at Whispering Canyon for lunch, then Coral Reef for lunch, and Ohana for dinner --
Any thoughts or suggestions on things we should try??

We are celebrating our Anniversary in October back at Disney (seemed only fitting since we spent our Honeymoon there too) :o)
I was able to get us into the California Grill for an 8:50 res., Is this Good?? I hope it is--
My Hubbie got us into the Castle at 4:30 the same day--Both are on our true anniversary date...so needless to say that day is just going to be all about the food!!

I am pretty excited-- Would love to hear everyone's suggestions!!:yay:

I haven't been to Coral Reef yet- going in Nov. Whispering canyon, probably the skillet, it's all you can eat & very good. 'Ohana is family style. EVERYTHING is good. You'll love it. My tradition is to go to 'Ohana the first night of our trip.

Hope the little info I gave you helped. Have a great trip & happy early Bday.

We just ate lunch at Coral Reef for the first time in June. It was probably my favorite meal of the trip. I ordered a vegetarian dish - pesto risotto, portabello mushroom and blue cheese. It was excellent. I'm not a vegetarian, but it just sounded so good I had to try it. Everyone at the table tasted it and loved it. My son and his girlfriend shared the blackened catfish and the lobster salad and thought both were very good. The lobster salad, which came with lobster bisque, was pretty small though and they said they were still a little hungry when they finished eating. They are not big people - in fact, my son is way too skinny!! My vegetarian dish did fill me up!! My daughter ordered the chicken caesar salad and said it was good. I also really like their bread. We had excellent service.

Wow, I'm excited just hearing about it! :woohoo:

I'm a die-hard follower of the all-you-can-eat skillet (and all-you-can-drink shakes) at Whispering Canyon, but truthfully I have yet to eat/sample anything off their menu that disagreed with me. If you're not in a 'skillet mood,' I'd suggest the chicken sandwich or the rainbow trout. On second thought, nix the trout as you'll be at Coral Reef too. Here's a peek at their menu; you may see something else that grabs your attention.

I've never been to Coral Reef, so I can't say much about it... but here's the menu.

Ohana's menu is simple... they just bring everything out to you! :thumbsup2

As for California Grill vs. Castle... I personally would choose the Castle simply for the atmosphere. I mean, how often are you going to actually have dinner in a castle???? :wizard:

However, the menus might sway you where the atmosphere doesn't. Here they are for Cinderella's Royal Table and California Grill.

Regardless of what you choose or what you order, I'm sure you're gonna have a blast!

I can definitely recommend the skillet at WCC - I had it last year and thought is was very good. The dessert I had there was probably the best I had the entire trip - it was a warm tortilla with vanilla ice cream and bananas foster on top - it was excellent!:cloud9:

We are trying Coral Reef and 'Ohana for this first time next month - I am taking notes from this thread so I'll know what to order!

Hope you have a great trip!:goodvibes

Are you planning on eating at 4:30, then again at 8:50? Or are you going to drop one? I can't imagine that you would seriously be ready for another meal just 3 hours after you finished the previous one.

Cheers!

The link that someone posted for the menu at Coral Reef is not the lunch menu that I had a month ago. They must have updated it. The menu I had did not have the vegetable strudel. It had the risotto dish I posted about above. I also know there was a pork chop entree. It also had the lobster salad and blackened catfish and chicken caesar salad. I'm not sure about the other entrees.
