My Aunt is insisting that if you have a first time visitor button,
you can go to the front of the lines on the rides.

I told her that is not true. She was just there using a Medical asst. pass, and said a first time visitor button gets you to the front of the line, also.

Has anyone heard of this ?:confused3

I second that. It will not expedite you to the front of the line. It would be nice, but it is not going to happen.

Not to the front of the lines, no. DLR doesn't even let just any person in a wheelchair to cut the line either. If you have a legit medical concern, you can get a Guest Assistance Card at Town Hall, which has various options (for example, I attended DL with a preteen who had cancer with very limited mobility, and our party got to go to go through the exits of many lines with rapid boarding, but I've also been with a friend who had knee surgery and was in a wheelchair who didn't have a GAC and she had to wait at the exit while the rest of us waited in the standby line, and when we got to the front she was able to join us). But the first time visitor? NO WAY! Guests with legit medical concerns should visit City Hall immediately upon arrival for assistance with attraction priority, but seriously, very FEW people get to skip the line.

(incidentally, the young girl with cancer that I was fortunate enough to spend time with at DL did pass away, and I will forever be grateful that Disneyland allowed her the opportunity to have a truly wonderful and magical day that wouldn't have been possible if many people were able to just skip the line to the front.)

I wish! They would need to verify that it was really your first time. Maybe ask you a bunch of questions about the park and make sure you don't get too many right? ;)

If that were the case everyone would be getting the First Visit Buttons!!

So many people wear the first visit buttons it would be impossible plus it would royally tick off anyone else!

How do you get a first time visitor button? Do you buy it? I'd love to get one for my family. Not because of what the thread is about but, because we are first timers.:)

Ticket booth, City Hall, some stores, front desk of Disney Hotels....

We got ours at town hall on mainstreet and no you don't have to buy it!:woohoo: It was nice to wear around the parks as it was a real conversation piece with other park guests and CM's. But sadly, no, it doesn't get you to the front of any lines...:upsidedow

Personally, I would not go to City Hall first thing in the AM to get a button. I had a 20 minute wait at 8:05 on a Saturday. We needed to resolve ticket problems so we could get FPs. Mean while, my family was walking onto rides. Why waste the opportunity to grab a FP and ride with no wait, when you can get the button later? -- Suzanne
