We got up pretty early to get ready for our Donald Duck breakfast at the Animal Kingdom. The breakfast was great and the interaction of the characters was fantasic. Everyone there was really great and friendly. They somehow had heard that we were celebrating Chey's birthday while we were there so another song, another cake, and a signed picture of the whole gang (Mickey, Pluto, Goofy and Donald). It was great.
We then headed over to Africa and rode the safari ride and walked all the trails. They were awesome. I loved the safari ride. Even the bouncing was fun. We saw all the animals and I guess since it was early and kind of cool still, all the animals seemed to be awake and ready to play. The cheetahs were playing around a tree like house kittens and it was fun to watch. After walking the trails, we headed over to Asia. We saw the Flights of Wonder bird show, and rode the River Rapids--even my chickenhearted mom--and she loved it. The only one that really got wet was my youngest sister and we all had a great laugh when we realized that she was wearing white shorts and a white t-shirt and not much underneath. She wanted to hide out on one of the little trails that lead to a smoking area til she dried out a little. So we did just that. I got Chey an ice cream so she was happy just to sit there for a few minutes. Up until today the weather has been great. Not too hot but just right with the breezes that would whip up. And of course we usually got a little rain but not enough to stop anything from being fun. Today it felt hot. Chey and I walked to one of the little carts that line the streets and bought one of the misters with the fan on it and we all loved that thing. lol We then headed over to DinoLand and rode the Dinosaur ride--even got my mom on it even though she swore she was going to kill me when we got off because I told her it was just a small ride that talked about Dinosaurs. lol She swore never to trust me again lol. We bought the picture that they took during the ride because of the look on her face. It was too funny. We then took Chey over to ride the triceotops (sp?). She loved that one and rode it 3 times in a row. We then went to see Tazan Rocks--loved that one. We then went over to see the 3-D movie "It's Tough to be a Bug." We all liked that one. While we were in there it had started to rain--we missed most of that rain since we were inside. We walked around the tree and had a contest to see who could find the most animals on it. We then walked back over to Africa to watch the parade and to get my daughter's face painted--that is the only thing that she has really asked for the whole time we were there so I had to get it done for her. We watched the parade which all of us thought was great and then Chey and I headed off to find the face painting station. She chose a Tiger look and it was beautiful. She looked so adorable. We got caught by the parade again so we watched it again and some of the people came over and danced with her and told her that she looked like she should be part of the parade with her Tiger face. It was great and I have it all on film. We then left the Animal Kingdom to head over to the Magic Kingdom to see the fireworks since we have a place in the reserved sitting area for the fireworks. As soon as we got settled in to watch it started to rain. My little one started to cry because she was convinced that the rain was going to wash all her make up off but it didn't. She still looked adorable but there was no convincing her so we left early to head back to the resort. I could tell that she was tired and needed a break.
We grabbed a bite to eat at the Roaring Forks and ate in the room. I then gave her a bath and settled her into bed. She was asleep within 10 minutes. Tomorrow we are all taking it easy so we left no wake up call. Not sure what we are doing yet but we shall see. It was a long day but a great one.
