How do everyone! I've been surfing around this space :confused3 and trying to gleen as much info as possible. It is now time to post! Family (DW, myself,2 DD's 10 & 7) are planning 1st trip in Oct. We are considering booking @CBR. I haven't read to much on anyones experiences @ this resort. Any suggestions on 1st time stay?

Stayed there a few years back and remember it was a large beautiful resort. Clusters of buildings named after the Islands, Mon. (Aruba, Jamaica, etc) Find lots of info and picture galleries at allearsnet.com. Have fun and welcome again. :hippie:

We stayed there a few years ago. Very nice resort, nice food court but also very big. If I ever stay there again I would pay for the preferred room. I can't remember the name of the island we were in (pink buildings) but I can attest to what a hike it was to the food court. Overall we loved our stay there but after all the walking at the parks the last thing these tired legs wanted to do was walk again for a drink or meal at Old Port Royale.

We stayed there in Sept 2004. The rooms were clean and nice, the location was very pretty. CM's in our experience were mostly Rude, Ok or just wonderful - so we felt that service was very spotty. It kind of broke down like this:
CM's at CS (OPR) - Rude for the most part
Cashiers at OPR - WONDERFUL
Mouse Keeping - OK
CM at Front Desk and supporting CM's at Main House - Rude

Remember though that this was 2 years ago - things could have improved greatly since then. At any rate the location is just gorgeous and I hope that you have a wonderful trip!

(PS - we are staying at the Poly next time we go - just mentioning this as I read again and saw that you were looking for a suggestion as to where to stay)

WELCOME TO THE DIS!!

I recommend a one bedroom home away from home. My husband likes being able to spend some time in a different room from the girls. Just a suggestion! Have fun! :goodvibes

Welcome! My DD will be at WDW early Oct for her honeymoon - she has booked at CBR - we stayed there the trip she was 11 and she loved it - she needed to stick with a moderate for her budget and still remember how much she loved the Carribean theme. We have stayed at Contemporary, Poly, CBR, and PO. You can check out the resort threads for the different moderate resorts - and it will also help you decide if CBR is for you. Looking at the resort maps will help you decide which building to request also. So much info - so little time - good luck - it will be great! Also - go to your library and check out Birnbaum's guide and the unoffical guide to WDW - it is nice to have the books to share with the family while you are planning - and get on the offical WDW site right away and send for the vacation planning DVD if you haven't already.
