1st time points renter... Room request?

Hello! Ive recently booked a Poly Villas lake view studio, and I wanted to put in a room request. I emailed the rental company that i used, and they forwarded my request to the owner who would submit the request for me. Has anyone had success with this? I read on here that supposedly i can make a request through MDE as well? The only real request I have is to be on the 3rd floor.
 
There’s an option on MDE when you start the check-in process for any requests. I never needed to so I can’t speak to the results of such requests.
 
I have had great success. You can look at a room map online and in many cases see the exact view from that room. I usually give like 5 exact rooms in order of preference and have always gotten one of them. Enjoy your trip!
 
If the owner has made the request with DVC Member services, that should be the only action required. If you then make a request while doing online check-in, the request in the DVC File will be over written. Requests available through MDE are limited, and there may not be one that fits your needs. Whereas Member Services can make different and more explicit requests through the DVC Owner. Remember, of course, that no request is guaranteed...they are only requests.

My guess is that this was a request made through Member Services or through Touring Plans (which is a private company). You can't get this specific when doing on-line check-in through Disney's MDE app or website. While you can make a request at online check-in through the MDE app, you never know what options will appear. Sometimes they are options which don't even relate to your resort.
 
Piggybacking on this.. Can I call Disney guest services (not DVC) and add a specific room request? I am not a DVC member but have rented points multiple times this year. I am still unclear on this. For example I am going to rent points for a stay next January and have pretty specific room requests in mind. I don’t want to aggravate the member I’m renting from with my multiple requests if it’s something I can do myself.

Not for a DVC rental. Those requests must go through MS who won't speak to you.

Shoot. It’s been a couple of years. I forget exactly how. I’m sure you’re correct that I told it directly to the owner and they took care of it. Well actually last time was 2019 Aulani, so more that I’m old than it was long ago. 😂 But I do think in the comments portion or something I mentioned it directly, but could be wrong. I’ve been doing it since 2006 so things may have changed too. Shucks. I thought I was all kind of help. 🤷🏻‍♂️
