1st time @ OKW..Loved it!

Eventually we are making the rounds of the DVC Resorts. This trip we did the first 6 days at BCV and then the last 4 days at OKW. WOW! Now I get it. We really loved OKW. Now, we like BCV and BWV for their pools, locations, but I liked the quietness of OKW (well except for the 4th of July midnight fireworks at PLeasure Island) and the spacious rooms and the cheaper points as well. We were in room 1430 across fron the HH. Next time though I am requesting either a 1st or second floor room. Oh! And I just LOVED the beds!!! DH wasn't fond of them, but I love firm beds. Kids liked them too. We didn't care for Olivia's (dinner) that much though. I think we may stay there next year.

Oh..and this is off topic...but I wore my pedometer to see how much we walked. Now we got there on Sunday 6/25. We did 3 parks and no extra exercising or long walks or anything like that. We did walk around Bay Lake once. I did not wear my pedometer until Tuesday at 5:00pm (the day we did Epcot) so most of Epcot wasn't included. We left on Wed. 7/5. I stopped wearing it Tuesday evening (7/4) so..bascially I wore it for around 7 days. The grand total of miles we walked.......40!!!!! Yes, 40 miles. I could only imagine how much more we have walked if I had put it on the morning we left for the airport and the first 2 days we were there.

Yes it is "the beautiful" resort "closest" to Downtown Disney.

Glad you enjoyed your stay! It's our home resort and we just love it. The kids love the boat ride to DTD, which we take every chance we get. This year will be our first trip at a different resort, and I'm excited about comparing the two.

I managed to add 4 days to our August trip to try OKW and we are really looking forward to it! Also, I did the pedometer last year at Disney too!LOL I seriously recorded each day's mileage and the average was 8 miles per day for a week's stay, but one day was 12 miles and another was 10, so I'll bet you could easily say 50-60 miles/week. Sure did help work off some of the dining though

We stayed in a 2-bedroom at OKW in 2003 and I loved it as well. It is beautiful and now the "2nd closest" resort to DTD, since SSR is now closer.

I want to stay at OKW many times in the future. We are also doing "the tour" of DVC resorts. Beach Club (twice), OKW, SSR and last year we stayed at HH. On July 29th we check into a 2-bedroom at VB for our first stay there.

Atlantic Ocean here we come!

(Sigh).....I am so sad. I miss it already. I think we are going to have to stay at OKW again next year. Maybe I can convince DH to go down for a week in late January. Hmmmm..maybe if I offer to drive most of the way?

Yep, we OKW also. We've stayed there twice and both times it was for short, quick trips to WDW - less than a week. The one-bdrm is almost too big for just DH and I. We are waitlisted for a GV for a family trip in Nov. If we don't get that we have a one-bdrm and a two-bdrm at VWL, which is probably our favorite.

Maybe we'll get there soon for a whole week!

Taking the tour of the resorts is fun. We have BWV and VB (one of our homes) to go.
