Dishwasher soap is provided. There is also a single load box of Tide for laundry. If you will be doing more than one load, you'll want to bring some laundry detergent.

Thanks Chuck. Do the washing machines use HE soap or just the regular stuff?

I've heard that some of the machines at AKV are front load, but the vast majority are top load units. I'd pack the regular stuff, and if you happen to get a front load machine, just use less.

The washing machines are not HE. We usually drive so we bring a small bottle of our usual detergent.

But bring your checkbook- for the add-on you'll do- once you stay in a 1 BR you can't go back to a studio!

We brought extra dishwasher soap and never used it since the stuff they provided was more than enough.

Did need extra laundry detergent though....

I agree with a PP that once in a one-bedroom, a studio will never cut it. We added after our first stay in a one-bedroom.....

An owners locker works great here. I have all my laundry stuff in my owners locker so I don't have to bring it with me each trip. (I would fill a snack size ziplock with enough laundry soap for a load, bring dryer sheets and shout). Now it all waits there for me!

I agree with the others, once you stay in a 1 BR you'll not be happy with a Studio. I think most of us are guilty of this. We made the mistake our first trip home, but DH refused to invest anymore money at that time. We juggled points from year to year so we could stay in a 1BR part of the time and studio part of the time....our last trip home DH made the comment about the move and he just wished we could stay in a 1BR ALL the time. FFW 5 yrs and we more than doubled our points, something I neve thought would happen. Thanks to the current incentive, the new AKV (which DH has been talking about staying at since they broke ground on AKL), and a MAGICal week on DCL. DH says we ARE going to start staying in a 1 BR on EVERY VISIT!

DW and I will have our first 1 br stay at AKV in July. It will only be our second trip home.

I agree that an Owner's Locker is a great way to have your dishwasher and laundry detergent with you on every trip.
