I just made our first reservations as DVC owners for next spring. They have both Boardwalk and standard views available. This will be our first time at the Boardwalk, also. Any thoughts on if we should save the points and go with a standard view or splurge on the Boardwalk? We do have banked points so we can do either. Thanks for any advice...:D

I say splurge! You will have other trips to get the SV when you need to save the points, and it doesn't sound like you mind either way. Let your first trip be the BW view and see how you like it!

Definitely, without a doubt go for the BW view! The view is incredible. You will have a great view of Crescent lake and the other Epcot resorts, the boarwalk, Spaceship Earth and Illuminations! These are highly coveted rooms and now that a BW view can be guaranteed, I would definitely take advantage of this opportunity. You have loads more trips to conserve points--this is your first trip as a DVC owner and it should be ultra special and a BW view villa definitely fits the bill!
Our first trip as BWV owners was in a BW view villa and I sat on the balcony in complete bliss and I knew without a doubt I had just made one of the best decisions of my life!
Have a great trip! You will love this resort, it is fantastic!

Our first trip home is in about six weeks. We spent the points and went with a Perferred View room/BW Request. Since the policy change, the BW Request has become confirmed.

I can't tell you yet if its worthwhile, but in our case we are taking my mother in law to Disney for the first time - and she isn't really a "Friend of the Mouse" so to speak. So we really wanted to do our best to make the experience a Wow.

If it had been my own decision, I probably would have booked standard view to save the points (I can be pretty frugal), but my husband isn't.

First trip to BWV you gotta do the BW view. This is the best the resort has to offer, and on your first trip, you deserve to see the best!

I agree to go for the BW view. You've got the banked points, so now is the time to splurge. In the future, you may need or want to save points by going for the standard view. But since you're able to splurge on BW view this time, and it is available, it would be a shame to bypass that chance.

I've only stayed at BWV once, and it was standard view. So I have not yet experienced the BW view, but I'm sure it is spectacular. Enjoy!! :D

What if:

You've got the pts, you could easily spend 8 or 9 nights in a 2br BW view villa... but you realize that for the season you're going, you could ALSO instead spend 8 nights in a std view AND 3 nights in a 1 br over at BCV!

THEN what do you choose?

(And BTW -- it's our first trip home to BWV too ... done OKW and VWL, but never BWV or BCV, and we are BWV owners twice over.)

What I would do, if I could take the extra vacation time......is take the standard view room and stay longer. As much as I love the BW view, I will always pick a longer stay at WDW over any view any where. The BW view is definietly the best view in the house but really there are no bad views from any of the BWVs. We like the standard views down by the tennis courts, nice view of TOT, the waterway/bridge, very quiet with lots of birds, ducks, etc.
If you decide to split the stay in a 11 day trip, I would split it more evenly like 6 nights at BWV in a standard view and then 5 nights at BCV. This way you have a chance to really settle in and enjoy both wonderful resorts to the fullest.
