Used EA for the first time for our 6/19-29 trip. We had booked a full size car on the website for $224 total for our 11 day rental using the Disney Club discount and coupon.

Got to the National parking area on Tuesday around 11am and there were only about 7 cars on the aisle. No convertibles or anything that looked especially novel or exciting. We picked a Buick Regal with about 4700 miles on it that was in pristine condition. Leather seats, CD player, lots of bells and whistles. Great car! Drove it over to the exit and handed the agent my computer print out of the rate, my coupon, my DC card, my EA card, my driver's license, my son,....geez! I also had a copy of my car insurance policy ready if I got any pressure to buy theirs. I got everything back except the coupon, asked for and was given a map, and we were off!

I have always filled the gas tank before returning a rental car. I considered stopping at the gas station on WDW property which was advertising 1.77/gallon (but we missed it) or looking for one on the way to the airport using 417 and never saw one. Biting the bullet, I asked the gentlemen who was printing out our receipt, after pulling up in line in the lot, what we would be charged. It was 1.70/gallon. Well, it was less than the Exxon on WDW property anyway. Here at home gas is around 1.56/gallon. All and all a very positive experience; very simple and fast. Easy cheesy and I would recommend EA to everyone. dinah

dinah;

Did you use a printout of the coupon on the DC website? I ask because this is the one I planned on taking. When I received my DC packet in the mail, it contained a National coupon. This coupon had both the discount info and the coupon info, but had the word OR clearly stated on it. In other words, it said I could one or the other, not both.

I followed the advice seen here and on Mousesavers and booked using both in the National website. This worked fine...however, it just seemed a good idea to use the website printout, which did not state any restrictions on using both.

So, I was just wondering which one you used?

Yes! I should have mentioned that I printed out and used the coupon from the DC website. The coupon number from the website was the one I had plugged into the form on the National page, as it gave me the best rate, and that was what I handed the National agent and what he kept. Worked fine, no questions asked. The guy was very pleasant and friendly. Hope you have a good experience as well. dinah

Does anyone know if the DC coupons will be extended past Sept? Our trip isn't till Oct. The price is about $167 for an intermediate w/DC contract #. Are there any other coupons out there for use? I would like to get the price down some. Also, will an intermediate car be ok for a family of 4? (DD-10 & DS 6)

Thanks, I just found this one myself from Mary Waring's website. It made my price $151 with taxes. Is that a good rate for an intermediate car? I'm new at this rental car stuff.

Our total rate was $132/fullsize for a week this past May. If you're using Emerald Club, you might be better off booking a full size, rather than an intermediate. The cost is generally close to the same, and you will (hopefully) have more options on the Emerald Aisle. The rate depends on when you're going, location of rental, and for how long. The rates change very frequently. Keep checking your dates and book a new ressie if the rate is lower, THEN cancel your old one. :D
