We arrived in Orlando around 10:30 a.m. DH went to get the bags and I went to pick up rental car. After reading about the long lines I figured it was best to split up. There were a couple of people in line but it moved quickly. The clerk at the counter wasn't particularly friendly. He cut me off when I asked if I could use a coupon for a free upgrade. No! Completely booked besides you booked through priceline.sneer. oh well, I was only paying $20 a day for a full size car. He gave me the keys to my Taurus and I was on my way. After finding my DH we were off. Arrived at RPR and fell in love
It is beautiful!! The line to check in was quite long so DH and DD looked around while I went to stand in line. Then I saw The Loews First guest check in line and hopped over there. I was helped immediately. The young man who checked me in was wonderful. I wish I could remember his name. I did not have a loews first card just my number. No problem. Could I have milk and cookies as my gift? No problem. How about a late check out? No problem. Could you guys hold our luggage until our room is ready? It was not yet noon and I had just heard the clerk beside him, in the regular line, tell this woman there wasn't a room ready, but he said hold on and after a few keystrokes he had one ready for us, right now! Then he called my DD over and gave her a shovel and pail. She was beaming!! It's those small things that make a place really great! We went up to our room. 8th floor. Again, we fall in love, the room was lovely. We cleaned up, changed and we were off. It was noon so we went over to Citywalk for lunch. Margaritaville was packed but we got a table outside. Big mistake! A waiter came after about 15 mins took our drink orders. 10 more mins got our drinks and ordered. We were starving. DH had ordered a Big Rita after several large gulps he noticed a bug in the bottom of the glass. I was ticked off and I didn't see our waiter anywhere. 35 minutes later we finally got our food but still no waiter. The food was good but by this time I was pretty mad. I finally found our waiter and told him about the bug he was really nice aout it got my DH another drink for free and took the first one off the bill. I was really ready to go to the parks. We decided on Universal, first. FOTL was wonderful. The parks were packed. We rode everything with virtually no wait , 5 mins tops. We rode the Mummy posted wait time was 30 mins, it only took about 15 mins. Great ride! But our favorite was MIB !!! Loved it !! I used the tips on this board and beat my DH the first time but only the first time though I did get the bonus all 4 times we rode, he never got the bonus. LOL. That really drove him nuts! He still scored way better than me. We stayed till 10:00 went back to the hotel unfortunately it was too cold to swim. Very windy but we were pooped anyway. so we went to bed. great beds!! We got up at 7:00 a.m. ordered room service and were out the door at 8:30a.m. Today was IOA we hit the Hulk front seat. Awesome. Then Dueling Dragons front seat First Ice, then Fire. This was DH's favorite ride!! we all loved it but he really loved it!! After all the complaining about getting up early, he was so glad we did. another great day. great rides. After lunch we went back to the hotel. DD finally got to swim in that great pool. It was still too cold for DH and I. After her swim we changed then checked out. We headed back over to Universal because DD had missed the nick tour on our first day. She didn't get picked to get slimed but she got picked to be to play the nick trivia game. She rocked!! It was so funny! She was honking that horn before the lady, forget her name, could get the whole question out . She got all the questions right and her team (blue, I think) won. Boy, do I let that kid watch too much T.V. after that we went back to IOA and had a great time we loved that park. Another great day. thanks for all the tips. After UO we went to Disney. Hope you had as wonderful a time in Disney. Orlando certainly does offer the best of both worlds doesn't it! Thanks again for posting your trip report.
