1st time at Universal...question about crowds

This will be my first time at Universal. We will be there November 19 - 22 - we get there at night on the 19th, so our first day int he park is the 20th. We are staying on site, so we will have the express pass as well as park to park tickets. We are all adults, with the youngest being 13 , so we can remove kid rides from the equation (i would think)...for the expert Universal people out there...should we be able to do most of what we want to ride....

I'm just trying to get an idea of crowd levels and possible wait times.

Also do I have to wait until we get to the hotel to find out which park is open an hour earlier for us?

If you are staying onsite, you should be fine, work your plan around Harry, that is where Express Pass doesn't work. Remove kid rides? I hope that doesn't mean Despicable Me...it's fun and funny for everyone!!! You will get to see everything, and you will love it!!!

The crowds likely won't be a huge issue, as you are leaving before the Thanksgiving crowds come in. We've been that time of year before and barely used Express Pass. One thing to note is that Minions can get long even with express pass. I've read to expect the express pass line to be half as long a wait as the regular line. I would still suggest to get familiar with the more busy rides so you can plan accordingly, but it's pretty easy. And in some cases - you might be pleasantly surprised.

There isn't much I'd skip even with a 13 year old. There may be some play areas you want to skip. (Though it can be fun to walk around Camp Jurassic). Even rides that younger kids can go on can be enjoyable for adults.
