I will be staying at OKW (1bedroom) for the 1st time and I need some advice on where to stay. I will be going with my husband and my sister (no children). As you know, location is very important to the success of any vacation. I would like a beautiful view, not noisy and the bus stops are not important (we usually drive). My sister can not climb stairs, so we need the 1st floor or an elevator. I was told it is best to ask for a specific building, but I don't know which one to ask for. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Actually, an area is the best request. If that particular bldg ha no room than you reasons for picking that building go unnoticed. But we have been staying at OKW since '92. We have never found an area that we liked so much or disliked so much to even bothering to request any location.

We also always have a car and each building had something nice about it.

Hi!
I have some room reports on OKW 1 BRs (a fairly small percentage of them). Two 1 BRs where people commented on nice views were Buildings 25 and 51. I'm sure there are some lovely views from other buildings too, but those were all I have so far. Also, there's a post somewhere on this board (can't find it) asking about the best area. Seems the two most popular (just of people who posted here) were Old Turtle Pond and South Point. Sorry couldn't be more helpful.

If 1st floor or elevator buildings are your prime concern, then that is what you should request. We have stayed all over OKW, and have never had what I consider to be a bad view or noise level. If you request a specific building, you will probably have less chance of getting what you want, because there will only be 2-4 1bedroom options on the 1st floor of each building. In stead I would request 1st floor or elevator for medical reasons and then request an "area" like Millers Road or South Point or Turtle Pond. I think the views are great at Millers Road. I like the seclusion of South Point, but some of the buildings near that area can back up to woods or road, so if view is THAT important to you, Miller's Road is your best bet.

I am definitely a person that likes to be close to the resort's dining options, pool, store etc. I am very big on convenience. The times that I have stayed at OKW I got a building close to the HH. These buildings provide very good access to the restaurant, main pool, store, boat dock, Community Hall, gym, etc. This is also where the 2 or 3 buidlings that have elevators are located. I find all of OKW to be very quiet and laid back including the buildings in the main hub area, but the buildings farther back into the resort are just too secluded and quiet for us.

I like the Peninsula Road area - it's close to the Hospitality House and main pool and Olivia's and the outside restaurant (can't remember the name). It's a nice walk to the buildings from the HH. The view is also nice except if you get first floor some of the balconies (that I have seen and one we had) are covered by the trees/bushes so you don't get to see a whole lot.
