Because of a great pin code we will be staying at the GF, garden view for the first time in November. I would appreciate hearing from you experts as to what room type/locations, etc. are preferable. Thanks all.

How exciting! The GF is a wonderful choice.

I'm not an expert just a fan who's stayed there quite a few times now. There are 3 FAQs which are within the resort FAQ sticky at the top of the resort forum. The oldest contains a description of the various views from the longhouses. All the prices are outdated of course and there is no longer different decor in the various longhouses. But otherwise, there's lots of good info at the beginning of the thread.

This newer FAQ has an aerial shot in the beginning that I think is very cool in particular. It has lots of other good info as well.

Both of those FAQs are now closed but still have good info in them.

There's still another GF FAQ which is active. There are many friendly people on it who will try to help you. Lots more good info there too.

Hope those FAQs help you a bit. Personally, my favorite GF gardenview is of the marina so that would be my request if I were to make one. But all the buildings have advantages and many fans.

Happy planning and have a Grand vacation!

You will love your stay at the GF!!!! :lovestruc

First off, there are NO PARKING LOT VIEWS at the GF. A Garden View room will overlook a garden, the pool or the marina. I have overlooked both the pool and the marina and prefer the marina. Marina view rooms are in either Sago Cay or Conch Key. Both are close to the main building and Gaspy's, however, both are far from the beach pool (relatively speaking- the GF is not a HUGE resort at all). A garden view room will not have a direct view of the castle, however, A FEW of the marina view rooms can see it off their balconies when looking to the side. Also, a lot of people like the rooms on the top floor (aka dormer rooms) since they have a cathederal ceiling and therfore "feel" more spacious.

Please check out the current GF FAQ thread (third link listed above). The first few pages have quite a bit of info, but if not there are a lot of helpful people over there willing to answer all your questions!!

Happy Planning!

We stayed on the top floor of Sago Cay in a Standard/Garden View room. We could watch the monorail from the balcony and we liked this very much (My father is a retired train engineer- the monorail is his favorite ride.) Our room had 2 queen beds and a day bed. My sister, brother-in-law and nephew were down the hall in a room with the raised ceiling and no day bed. We liked our day bed room. They liked their higher ceiling room- it had a smaller, more enclosed balcony- my 1.5 year old nephew was able to go onto the balcony and play without all of us worrying and running after him!

One night there were extra fireworks for some event. I could see about half off them if I poked my head over the balcony. There are great fireworks views at the marina- I just watched these from the balcony as they were part of some extra event and later in the evening. We always stay in Standard/ Garden Views with Disney hotels and liked this view the best!
Have a great time!

The GF is one of our 2 "Home" resorts (The other being the BC). We stayed in a dormer room on the corner facing the MK, great centered view of the castle and fireworks.

Have a super time at the GF.

Hi and Congrats on staying at GF...you will love it.
I always love Boca Chica; close to pool, can see wishes out the back door on the side of the lake, close to main building!
We are also going in Nov. Good Luck :goodvibes
