I just booked the Disneyland Hotel for 2 nights in December and am so excited! :goodvibes I am wondering which tower is the closest when walking from Downtown Disney? We have a standard room rate, do all 3 towers have standard rooms? Any other requests I should make with our room reservation?
Thanks! :goodvibes

Oh gosh, I can never remember which tower is which!

As for the rooms- yes, all towers have standard rooms as well as pool view.

Now that they changed the names, I get confused, too.

I think the Magic Tower is the one with check in.

As for Dreams and Wonder.....I want to say Dreams is the one near the koi pond and fountains???? :confused3

Yep....the old Marina tower is the Wonder...that overlooks the pool.
Dreams used to be the Sierra tower, it's near the waterfall and koi pond (my personal favorite) and the Magic tower is where you check in.

Don't they all overlook the pool? :confused3

Wonder has the added bonus of having a Downtown Disney view! In the 7 times we've been, we've had a pool view all but once. That time we were in Dreams tower facing the parking lot- that was my least favorite stay.

Just wanted to correct the tower names: Dreams is the old Sierra Tower that overlooks the pool or DTD, Magic is the old Marina tower that has the lobby, and Wonder is the old Bonita tower that is near the waterfalls and koi ponds (and farthest away from everything).

edited to add: Dreams tower houses the concierge lounge on the 11th floor (or is it 10th?) and has the exterior glass elevator to get to the lounge.

You may get lucky if you are going at a slow time in Dec. I called today to confirm our standard room and they said we had been upgraded to a view room, pool or DTD. He made a note on our reservation to get us a view of the fireworks if possible. I just didn't want the Wonder tower because it is the furthest, but if we get a good view with out the extra fee, I will gladly take it and be one happy gal!!

We are going over TG with a standard view. I think I am going to request Magic tower, I think they have more standard view rooms. Dreams has a lot of "view" rooms, both pool and DTD. I just don't want to be in Wonder... too far. :) Although I'll take whatever I get.

Kim :)

Wow! :goodvibes That's exciting! Exactly how did you go about this? Of course I would take a free upgrade in any tower too! :goodvibes

This last visit in July we stayed in the Dreams tower facing the pool, on the
5th floor. The view was amazing, you walk right out the doors of your building lobby and into the end of Downtown Disney, about a 3 minute walk to the monorail station. We loved the pool view, especially at night, and you could hear all the tree frogs, it was like being at a tropical resort! We thought next time we would ask to be on the other side of the same tower, 5th floor also or higher, you would be able to see the fireworks from there. Looking out over Downtown Disney would be neat too, and those rooms are even less expensive!

Did I read before that one of the towers was not renovated as recently as the others and is a little more 'dumpy'? If so, which tower is it?

Last year, we stayed one night in the Wonder tower and the rest of the time in Dreams. IMO, it is the Wonder tower that has not been renovated as recently. The room was dumpy, and the hall smelled like a dorm when we came off the elevator.
