This is our first time doing universal. we will be here 3 days but only 2 park days then we move on to wdw for 7 days. Our kids are 5 and 9. Our tickets are for 3 parks 2 days and we will be at CBBR.

1st day we dont get to the resort until late afternoon so we were thinking pool/relax maybe city walk for dinner

2nd day use early admission to HP and a park day same as 3rd day except we will need to check out before heading to park .

since the tix are good for 3 parks would you fit in a bit of VB on the 2nd day or is that just too much ? We will be hitting up a water park at WDW...also VB it seems the 5yr old will not be able to do much.

Any advice/tips would be great...Ive got Disney down but I am feeling lost about the Universal part of our trip.

There's definitely room to hit VB at the end of park day(s). That's what we did and enjoyed/appreciated it immensely. I don't think there's a way to do Universal wrong. We did "wing it" style and everyone was satisfied.

One thing to note about VB though. At least in December, they were very strict on the height maximum for the super cool kid area. My 8 and 10 year olds were too tall but our 5 year old was a little too timid to do some of the stuff without a sibling chaperone. It was a temporarily huge bummer. The limit is 48 inches.

Since you are doing a water park at Disney I`d give VB a miss. Especially as your youngest may not be able to do much.

I would take the time and really enjoy the parks to the full. You can take your time and fully appreciate them rather than perhaps rush to do a water park.

And of course you could enjoy the pool again, or any of the other hotel pools as pool hopping is not only allowed it`s encouraged.

I will say I may be biased as I hate water parks and have no interest in them........but I still think for you I would give it a miss.

Read some of the stickies on here for more info since you haven't been before, read some trip reports and the universal website although can be quite difficult to navigate at times, does have some good info. www.universalorlando.com

Enjoy the parks........:D

VB requires that you use the early entry perk (and easy access) offered by CBBR, or that you visit the waterpark during the last 2 hours of operation.

Anything in between and you will probably be facing long waits, and since you have a little one, your options will be even more limited.

it will mostly depend on how your 5 years old copes with florida (heat, tiredness and so on)
if you're back at your hotel and feel like it's pool time, your ticket gives you 2 choices :
use the lazy river at CBBR or have a peek at VB and do the lazy or even fearless river there. Those can get busy and sometimes it's a fight for the tubes, so it's best at the end of the day.

If the young one is taller than 42" I would also suggest to give krakatau a try. It's a water coaster and it's lots of fun. Not scary, not very intense, just fun ups and downs on a fast boat. Probably one of the best rides at universal and at least as much fun as the rides like crush'n'gusher at disney's

but if you're not in a situation where you can say "what now, pool at the hotel, or pool at VB" then just focus on the main parks
if you're given the choice between pool time at your hotel and pool time at VB ... go have a look at that park, be it only for a couple of hours (but either very early morning, or a one or two hours before park closes to avoid massive crowds)

VB is right next to Cabana Bay. If you decide to visit Volcano Bay, you should think about doing it in the early hours. VB is a wonderful park, but as some have said, it might not be wise to rush things.

VB is more of a chill place, a good spot to relax and listen to some awesome island reggae music.

It is good to have the option though.
