1st thing to do at HH

My family of 4..kids are 16 and 12 arrive at HH in two weeks. What is the
1st thing everyone does. This is our first trip to HH and don't know what to expect.

I would take a walk around the resort to familiarize yourself. It's not a very big place, but you will want to know where the Mercantile is, where the recreation rental window is, etc. If you want to rent bicycles for your stay, this you can do it at the rental window.

Then I think I'd go over to the beach house and do the same thing.

Once you know your way around the resort a bit, you can look at the activities offered and see what looks good for you. The cast members will also give you some suggestions.

Be sure to pick up some of the island activity books and the restaurant guide for more ideas of what to do and where to go.

My overall favorite activity at the resort is relaxing!!

We always have the same routine when we arrive at HH. Last month was our seventh year visiting. We always check in, say hi to Chef Gordon if he is there, go get our refillable mugs, rent bikes (sometimes they run out if you wait too long), sign up for any activities we are sure we want to do for the week, then go to Piggly Wiggly to get our groceries. Then we relax for the week. Wish I was there now. Have a great trip.

Rent bikes! Definitely.

You can rent them at the bike window for the length of your stay. Our kids are about the same ages as yours and we bike everywhere. HH is flat so biking is easy. We bike to the Beach House, to local restaurants, to the mall...everywhere!

1 - Rent Bikes! HHI is the perfect place to ride bikes!

2 - Sign up for the Kayak trip in Broad Creek. I just did this 2 weeks ago and loved it, looking forward to our next trip to do it again!

The first thing my teens do is to go get crab traps, etc. from the Activities window and head down to the dock to fish and crab if it is high tide!

We head to the beach before 5:00 to rent an umbrella and chairs for the week or go first thing in the morning.
