1st MNSSHP- how crowded?

Since the first party is on Labor Day, how crowded do you think it will be. Are the 1st parties normally pretty busy?

It is my DS(will be 16) birthday and we had been thinking of doing one of the MK tours that am now that the boys are both over 16, and then spend the rest of day there.

We went year after year to both MNSSHP and MVMCP for many years when they were younger, but never the first or last parties.

We are also planning on attending the first MNSSP. This will be our first MNSSHP
I have read that the first and last parties sell out.

It won't be anymore crowded than any other party that sells out. Sold out is sold out. The only difference is they sell out faster than other particular nights.


We were there last year on a capacity night and we literally walked on Splash Mountain without a single wait, not even to get in a log. There was no one for 4 logs in front off or behind us. Longest wait was about 15 minutes for the Haunted Mansion, which is obvious for the Halloween party. We did all the treat trails but didn't do any character greetings. We basically used the party as our day at the MK. We got there at 3:30 and did every ride we wanted to and we still had about 2 hours to kill at the end of the night and that includes watching the early parade and HalloWishes.

I was in the parks on Labor Day last year, AND at the first MNSSHP (Sept 10). The crowds were quite manageable on the holiday, and the party DID NOT sell out.

I had not heard the 1st party sells out, I only knew about the 31st selling out. I didn't realize the first night was such a big deal when it's 2 months out. I guess the park will be decorated by then which is always nice.
