I am trying to find out about kids first haircut at the MK. What all do they do for the little kids? Is it worth waiting for? Thanks!

We got DS's first haircut there...we didn't wait long, maybe 15 minutes. (we went at about 11:30). They use lots of stickers and were really good at working with his wiggling. You get a certificate, special ears and a lock of the hair....I am so glad we did it, it's a memory we'll always have. Here are some pics...

How cute! Did you get to keep the ears?

We did this for my ds when he was 13mos and it was worth it. I think the cost was $14 (pretty reasonable, IMO) at that time and they really entertained him well. They put stickers all over him and gave him a Mickey Spinner to play with. When it was all over with, he got a special certificate for his first haircut as well as clips of his hair and some Mickey confetti wrapped in some tissue paper and sealed shut with a sticker. He also got a set of Mickey ears with "first haircut" embroidered on them.

One tip though - get there early. I believe the shop opens at 9am typically. They don't take reservations so it's first come, first served.

Yes, the ears are yours to keep. It wasn't the greatest cut ever, but it was fine for a first haircut. I will say that it's a little hard when they have that first cut because they move from infant to baby in about 20 minutes....here's a before shot...we really pushed the envelope waiting to get the first cut at Disney...he was only 9 months old

The kiddos above are so cute!

We did this too, and it was good fun. I love, love, love her ears.

I have a thread on the Theme park attractions board with soo many cute photos from people. I am planning to do this for DS 1st bday in Sept, I will try to find the thread on the other board and bump it to the first page so you can find it, I have no idea how to link :confused3 sorry!

It is totally worth it! Get there either 1st thing or about 1.5-2 hours after park opening. They will keep your little one so amused and you will have the BEST memories!

We did this in Sept and walked into the BarberShop at 4pm and we were the only ones there!!!! DD & DS both got their first haircuts at the same time!!! It was very cute and we definately plan on having DS get his haircut there again. I want to try BBB with DD next time....

SO worth it.

My little one is two, and barely had enough hair ... but we did it a couple of months ago b/c I couldn't wait anymore.

The man who cut her hair was amazing. I don't think she ever knew what was going on. I'm a crier, and when I started to tear up, he put a sticker on me. I'm glad he knew how to handle me as well.

He saved EVERY snippet of hair, folded it all up in a paper towel, packed it, and her certificate all up.

I think the best part of the whole deal is that it's a well kept secret. My good friend who used to actually work for Disney swears she's never heard of the Barber Shop in MK. This girl knows how many triangles are on spaceship earth, but not that there is a barber shop. Go figure.

Another great thing about the Barber Shop is that they will put "Pixie Dust" in your little ones hair for free. You can just walk in and ask for it. Hair spray and colorful confetti. Cool if that's what the little ones like.

My son will be 3 and has had several hair cuts already. Do they do anything special for the little ones that it's not there first haircut? I would love to get his haircut there just because.

I love their haircuts too!

My kids both got the BEST haircuts there!

They look cute for months afterward and only needed trims to keep them up.

Well worth the money for the haircut let alone the wonderful memory!

I am thinking of getting mine done there next trip. Why not???!!!! LOL!

Cute pictures everyone.

I love the pink ears. When DD got hers they just did the black.

DS had a haircut one day while we were waiting for a parade. Grandma was complaining that he needed his haircut and I said "there is a barbershop right around here somewhere" so grandpa took him over and they were the only ones there. It was a good cut too! I'd say maybe it is better know now - but Ssshhh lets keep it quiet!

Thank you everyone for sharing your pictures and memories. I had read about this Disney experience in a book and am planning on doing this for DD2 during our visit in May.
