got a couple of questions...

~ where is the laundry room located??? only staying at jambo house AKV...

~ is there a DVD player in the room and if there is... do they have a kiosk for movies??? :confused3 sorry for all the dumb questions... but had to ask...:guilty:

TIA

Laundry room is on the 5th floor. You go toward the back of the lobby area, (I'm saying that the savannah area is the "back" of the lobby") make a right and the room is about the 2nd on the right. We used it in March, there was at least one front loading washer and one top loading one. I don't remember how many driers. There is a sign near the lobby elevators on the 5th floor directing you to the laundry room. You need your room key to enter it.

There are DVD's in the studios, and I'm just guessing that you get the DVD's in the store. We've never borrowed one at AKV, so I really don't know.

:hug:I hope you're feeling better soon! Weren't you thinking of running in the 1/2 or full marathon? Is this a training injury?

The AKV has wonderful opportunities to enjoy without leaving the resort. I like to go to the night Cultural Safari in which a CM tells about his/her country. Some presentations are better than others, but it's been very interesting to see the diversity of the types of backgrounds that the CM's have.

The VWL pulls me to it too, but the water/cycling activities that we enjoy are losing out to just chilling and watching the animals and doing fun things around AKV!

Last May could get DVD's from the Marketplace.

To add to what Bobbi said, the laundry room is just off the lobby at the start of the Zebra trail. I think it is right next to room 5408. You will need your room key to get into the laundry room.

There is a room map of Jambo House here: http://www.parkinfo2go.com/dvc-akv/floor5.php if you want to see where room 5408 is located.

it has 4 dryers.

for every washer - dvc tries to have 2 dryers - so you are surpose to separate your clothes.

What it looks like to me is that the laundry room is 5 floors up from the restrooms that are off the back of the lobby. Take the pipes from those restrooms, aim them straight up, and you'll hit the laundry room. Is that correct, or am I seeing it wrong?

you are probably correct - just don't remember where the restrooms are on the 3rd floor (lobby)

just look for 5408 - it is closer to the lobby than 5408 - it is about 2 doors down (might be 1)

In March, the cultural safari began at 8:30, but in other months it began at 8 so check the schedule. No reservations...just show up in the common area to view the Sunset Savannah...walking toward the rear of the lobby, it's on the left. It's just before you get to the DVC sales desk.
