1st Ft Wilderness Blog is up!

Sounds like they're having fun "roughing it." I look forward to hearing their review on the next podcast.

I sure hope things warm up some for those folks that are roughing it.

As for me, I gave that up years ago (I think the army cured me). Now my idea of roughing it is when you have to say at the Holiday Inn because the Marriott is booked.:joker:

Okay....roughing it? Really? Heated cabin? Heated RV? Stop. Put 'em in a tent, take away their internet access and electricity and running water and toilet/shower and soft, comfy beds. Take away their golf cart and constantly running internal buses. Then talk about roughing it.

Will, hon, I'll show you how to rough it. And I'll even put a space heater in the cistern.

Just saw your smiley, that cracked me up so much. Ya, roughing it a little. The first of the week, it was just so cold here. Now its warmed up a bit, I wouldn't have wanted to camp in a tent in 30 degree weather let me tell ya, and whats this about no internet.....:crazy2:.......thats crazy talk

I'm sitting by the Bike Barn lake watching the sun go down, just got done fishing. About to shower up and get ready for dinner :thumbsup2

Have a great evening Will.

So where's dinner?

That is just plain barbaric thinking!!!!

Roughing it????

HA!

Try a week in the middle of Algonquin Park, 5-10 miles from the nearest hydro, phone, flush toilet, etc.
3,200 sq miles of nothing but forest and lakes.
Canoe as your only mode of transportation.
Drinking water is as close as the lake. (No amoebas up here!:thumbsup2 )
Portaging from lake to lake as you travel merrily along.
Getting as close as 50 to 60 feet from a moose, fishing for Lake Trout, cooking on an open fire.
Ahhhh, the good ole days.
Some scary moments too....
Getting between a bear and her 2 cubs during a hike, a cow moose that almost fell into our canoe while going down a small river, the time I almost cut my thumb off.
Soooooo many memories.
Cant wait until my boys are both old enough to do it, like my father, mother, and I did for so many summers (from age 8-26).
Not this summer, but maybe next!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy yourself Will! :thumbsup2
Have a great time!

Pete and Walter....well....you're in a cabin, that's cheating, but, I guess I can wish you a good time as well. :p :rotfl2:

PS - We stayed 4 days in a FW cabin in 2007, liked it, but didn't LOVE it.
