But...But......But are there yeller flys? Lizards? Bears??? Peacocks? Drunk Fiends??:scared1:

The answer is yes to all:

Yellow flies: Bring bug repellent.
Lizards: Bring lizard repellent.
Bears: Bring bear repellent.
Peacocks: Actually, I lied. There are no peacocks. :(
Drunk Fiends: Bring Disney popo. ;)

We will be there also. This is our second year and we learned a lot from our first 4th at FW. Patience is key. Enjoy what the Fort has to offer and if possible, limit you park visits. Too crowded. We will be spending more time at the Fort and less time in the parks this year. Swimming, bike riding, watching the parade on the 4th, campfire/movies, beach, and relaxing.

It's going to be very, very hot. Make sure to bring twice the amount of water bottles of people who are going on your trip PER DAY. It's not going to be pretty, nor is the money you have to spend. Don't buy water there, you can save a TON of money buying them at a local supermarket. Otherwise, don't forget those bathing suits :hyper:

This is what worries me. When we first booked our site for the 4th, it was going to be a "No-park" visit. Just hang out at FW and enjoy what it has to offer, relax, swim, etc. Well, now we are buying AP's and have dining reservations all over the World. My wife just can't stand the thought of not going into the parks.

So, we compromised. I am actually going down tomorrow with the kids, we may venture into a park for a little while, but it is going to be mainly FW time and doing the stuff I want to do. Then the wife is coming down Tuesday evening and we will do things more to her style. Don't get me wrong, I love the parks, too. But I am not looking forward to dealing with the heat and the crowds.

DH does not do well with crowds. We are AP holders and since we live pretty close we can go often, even if just for the day. I don't really feel any pressure to visit the parks when its 95 with a heat index of 105. I thought a couple of nights going over just do walk around and do a couple of attractions and get a Dole Whip. The rest of the time is going to be spent at FW doing things we have never had a chance to do. We want to rent a boat, either power of canoe, as we have never done that. Maybe go on the wagon ride, haven't done that yet either. Just some much needed R & R.

We will be there 7/1-7/8 and have all our dinner ressies made and have our plan of attack already. We spent New Years Eve in the MK 2 years ago could it be worse then that. It took us over 2 hours to leave the MK and get back to our unit @ SSR, this time we are camping so only a boat ride away.
We have dinner ressies @ The Ca. Grill for the night of the 4th so we will be able to miss the crowds @ MK but still have a great spot to see the fireworks.
Look for a big Cedar Creek 5th wheel with a Ford F350 from De. and stop by to say hi, hope to have our ears out front of the 5th wheel.
