This will be to celebrate my, umm, 21st anniversary of my 39th bday, lol, or in other words, my 60th! Shhh! We, myself and my DD27, are already staying at the Poly on 7/30-8/3, pool view, that is a definite and will not change. Super excited! Always wanted to stay there! Then we are looking to book the next 4 nights of our trip and we are choosing between the GF outer building or continuing at the Poly in a standard room(unless they allowed us to continue in the same room with a bit of pixie dust, lol), for 8/3-8/7.

So, looking for some thoughts on why you'd suggest to pick either the Poly or GF. Really having trouble deciding! It'd be great to stay at one resort for 8 nights and we really love the tropical decor of the poly! And, it'd also be fun to try the GF this trip as well. We've stayed at other deluxe resorts, but I've never done anything on the monorail before. DD27 basically wants me to pick so I'm happy but having a hard time choosing. And she thinks it'd be fun to try another resort on the monorail and has always wanted to stay at GF and has stayed at the Poly before with her fiance(now DH) and will be staying there again in Dec with DH. I'm also wondering about the beds. We usually go twice a year these days, a small Xmas trip and now a summer trip. We've had some great, super comfortable beds at OKW, SSR, hmm mind blanking on others with great beds, but I am wondering about the beds at the Poly and at GF. Not sure about the various buildings at either resort as well. Any thoughts you can share to maybe help me decide, and soon, lol, would be great! TIA!

I would move over the Grand. It's fun to try a new resort and GF is perfect for a mom/daugther trip. I really liked the beds both at Poly and GF. If you pick GF, look into renting a cabana for a day! So nice and pampering, especially going in August.

If you have to pack up and move rooms anyway, I would head over to GF. I would not count on them allowing you to stay in a pool view room at Poly when you have standard booked. I think the beds are comfortable at both resorts.

Another vote for trying the GF. As others have said, you will have to move/change rooms at the Poly anyway, so why not try a new resort. Plus, the GF is beautiful! The Poly is my favorite overall, but the GF runs a very close second. Have a great trip :wizard:.

GF split! Beds at Poly are good, but the beds at GF are wonderful! Also at GF for a standard room pool or marina view is included in this category. My fav location is Big Pine Key overlooking Courtyard pool.

You didn't ask but I would definitely suggest that you move to an Epcot resort, like Beach Club, Yacht Club or Boardwalk for the second half of your trip.. We aren't big fans of the monorail, since it is only convenient for Magic Kingdom. So a split stay is perfect for us. You can walk to Epcot and to Hollywood Studios from an Epcot area resort. :)
