1st Floor Condo at Windsor Palms

Could anyone reccomend or has anyone rented a first floor condo at Windsor Palms? We already have reservations at our favorite unit for our family (which is on the 3rd floor), and today the inlaws just decided to come so I want to reserve them a unit on the 1st floor due to their age. Any suggestions???

Well, we have not actually stayed here, but it was on my short list that I'd narrowed down for our upcoming Thanksgiving trip. It's one that's on the first floor of Windsor Palms and is actually ADA accessible. The person I contacted via email seemed very nice and answered my questions as we were not travelling with any elderly or ADA people, but just wanted to find a nice condo. I found it at http://www.windsor-palms-resort.com/hartweg.htm. They had another website with some pictures at http://hometown.aol.com/mcovacations. We just found another condo that we liked a little better, but this one was a runner-up for us.

A couple of tips -

Some of the condo buildings are level with the street. Others are up a small hill - those have a somewhat long sidewalk that snakes back and forth to the first floor. Could be a challenge for anyone with difficulty walking.

Central AC units for the whole building are on the ground near the building. Be sure the 1st floor unit you rent isn't right next to the AC units. Otherwise, you'll be listening to those go on and off all day and nite.

We were in a 3-bedroom first floor condo at Windsor Palms last year, in a building that was right beside the clubhouse - easy access and a very short walk if that's a consideration for your inlaws. We rented through an owner on vrbo.com and were very pleased with the service and the unit. Just let me know if the other unit doesn't work out and you'd like more details.
