1st DVC stay and 1st SSR stay coming soon

We are using DPs to stay in a 3BR Grand Villa at SSR in mid-August for 3 nights. There will only be 6 of us in the GV. Me, my wife, 16yr old son, 14yr old daughter, and 9yr old son & daughter.
Having never done this before,
Should I be requesting a specific area to stay?
What the best pool for kids?
Where is the community room?
Is that where the kids activities are?
How do video rentals work for the rooms?
How is the internet access?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get all our ducks in a row since it is our first time.

Hi Don - you will love the GV - they are so wonderful! Just the best!

Our favorite section of SSR is Congress Park; within walking distance of DTD and some villas have views of DTD. It is a good central location for us. Each section has its own pool; the larger pool is adjacent to the Hospitality area.

We just returned from our first stay @ SSR with our DP's as well!

First I would like to say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning!

Community hall is near the High Rock Pool and arcade. We stayed in the Springs section and I would Highly reccommend staying there. The proximity to the pool and community hall was PERFECT!! My kids went and did at least 1 activity (sometimes 4) per day @ Community Hall and the location being so close made a huge difference. The activities were AMAZING and your kids will love them. We literally had to drag them away from there to go the parks. They both told us that the kids activities were their favorite part of the entire trip.
