Hi,

I'm taking my little boy, who will be 18 months old when we go, to DLRP in October. We are having a bit of difficulty in choosing what should be his first ever Disney ride (I know he won't remember but we will)

Any ideas????

Pirates of the Caribbean. It's one of the best rides in the park in my opinion and is suitable for almost any age.

It's a Small World.

It'll gauge whether he likes the water rides or not.

Pirates may be a bit loud for an 18month old.

My DD's first ride was Dumbo she loved it! To the point we ended up going on it 20 times lol.

Wow, that's quite some queuing you must have done!

I guess IASW would be a good alternative to pirates - basically any of the rides suitable which are "world famous" and kind of represent Disney would be a good choice.

Luckily we went the last week of January and this ride was always a walk on :lmao:

My first ride was Orbitron, and I've never forgotten it!!

I think whatever ride you pick first will always have a special place in your heart (Even if you're like me and you've developed a fear of heights that stops you going on it ever again!!).....

I vote for IASW.
The atmosphere and music will catch your little boy's attention and it will be slow enough so he wont be scared :goodvibes

Ours always is IASW!!! We just love it and reminds us of our first trip...

I still have been on IASW, its like my fave ride in WDW. Need to do it this trip.

We took DS on a IASW for his first ever ride at Disney when he was 14 months and videoed it. He's now 3 and we love watching the video and seeing his amazed expression as we got on the boat, which broke out into a massive smile as he first saw the 'children', followed by lots of baby giggles. It's adorable to watch.

TBh I think POTC may be a bit scary for a little one- DS was pertified of Snow White and Peter Pan at that age, but then every child is different.

Disney is a magical place with a baby of that age- we've got some gorgeous footage on video and I'm so pleased we've got those wonderful memories.

Its a small world was my little boys first disney ridewhen he was 5 months old. He doesnt remember it from that long ago but he is now 4 and when we took him last year, he loved it.

My vote's for IASW too :thumbsup2 . The music & the 'colourful-ness' of it all is just fab!

I think IASW is a good choice:thumbsup2

Our first ride was Snow White, so even 12 or whatever years later, our first ride when we get in those gates is Snow white

omg i didnt even think of that for my lil girl. im thinking iasm. its gentle and i kinda want to ease her into it kwim. she likes to take things at her own pace so i dont want to put her on something that might frighten her.

i guess it depends on your lo.
