1st day at WDW

Hi,

We have a 7am flight on October 30th. This means waking up around 4am.
I have three boys aged 6,4 and 6months. We will be arriving at the Airport at 10am and plan to hire a towncar to take us to Disney (we don't want to hassle with a shuttle or Disney Mag. express). I assume we'll be at BCV around 11-11:30. We of course will be exhausted but also soooooo excited.
I was thinking we should do Epcot on the first day since it is so close. My only concern was that if we are going there that late will the lines be so long that we won't be able to get on all the best attractions and will all the fastpasses be gone. I assume we'd want to be out of the park by 5:00.
We want to be back to the BCV at a decent time to settle in and go to bed.

EPCOT is one of the better parks to arrive at mid-day because it's so large and can absorb crowds better. Depending on what rides you want to go on, and how late the park is open that night, I would think you should be fine if you grab a fast pass for Soarin' (not sure how early they're running out these days) and head to Test Track or Spaceship Earth. I would think those three rides would be your biggest challenges, but probably still doable with fast passes. Good luck!!

Soarin and Test Track will be your biggest issues. Everytime I've gone for Fastpasses at these rides in the afternoon, I've gotten times as early as 7:00 pm and as late as closing. Since your kids are soo young, you may not care about these rides. Epcot is to me a great place to go for an afternoon. My son's favorite ride when he was younger was the spaceship earth. There is never much of a line and we always ride it a couple of times when we visit.

This would be my suggestion.

When you arrive at your hotel see if your room is ready. Have lunch then let the children nap.

Check to see which park has the evening magic hour. If it is Magic Kingdom on the day of your arrival, aim to go there.

This is a tradition that we do everytime we go to Disney. The first and last day have to (my dd's request this) be the Magic Kingdom

We are going in August again and the day we arrive is the evening magic hour at MK and that's where we will be - tired or not - we too have an early a.m. flight out of Buffalo at 7:00 a.m.

We are kind of in the same boat...red eye this Sunday from Seattle arrives in Orlando at 7 AM...kids are 9,8, and 6. Hopefully they will sleep well on the plane (hopefully wife and I do as well). I guess from what I read that Epcot makes the most sense for that first day...I will check the magic hour for Monday as well.

So for us the magic hour is at MGM that day...and it just occurred to me that we are going to be -3 hours. I think for us we will try to take naps then spend the afternoon/evening at MGM since the evening magic hour will only feel like 6 PM to the kids.

Yay!! We just celebrated our 11th anniversary on the 5th!! We had a blast on our honeymoon and we really enjoy sharing WDW with our two little girls!! Happy anniversary to you!
