1st Cruise Back

I wonder if DCL will do anything special on the first cruises back- whenever that might be.
Pete was talking about this but with regard to WDW and some sort of re-opening ceremony. I agree with what Pete said: The problem is many people have sadly passed away from this horrible virus so to have some sort of celebration would be a bit inappropriate, imo. I don't see DCL or WDW doing anything over the top once operations resume.

I think something will be done but it will be low-key and subtle.

They could do an “America Strong” and match donation of food or money to rebuild America. Maybe small business?

Maybe make a few shorts to promote small business or how Mickey and Minnie behave Covid-19 safe?

I totally agree, a celebration of sorts would seem a little off kilter, maybe a "We're Glad You're Sailing With Us Again" type of sailing to mark the return of DCL operations. But it hopefully would be tempered with the unfortunate circumstances that resulted in the shut down to begin with. And has been posted, any type of memorial or fund to help with the families of lost ones could help some of the healing. It's a slippery slope to climb, get back to sailing (YAY) and realize that there are some that paid the ultimate price from this crisis.

I don't think anything will happen besides a little more cheer when you come on board, besides it will be tricky for all the lost lives during this crisis. But it can also be seen as bad taste to celebrate those who are privileged enough to still go on expensive Disney cruises while so many people have lost their jobs. A bit like celebrities telling you how bored they are in their mansions.

And I am sure Disney will donate in one way or another through their charity organisations.

I see more of a rally than a celebration. Like when you see a parade of veterans, you’re not celebrating that they went to war, just showing respect. Like maybe a month of health care workers?
