Ok, so I made my first call to Disney today! :cheer2: I was so nervous I could barely hold the phone. Anyways, I was hooked up with what seemed like a receptionist. She ask me a few basic questions. Date? Name? FDH name? What have you. Then she ask if I had picked a place. I said I had a question, I then ask her about the no outside photographers for Epcot ceremonies. She first told me that they didn't have Epcot ceremonies and that they in fact did no ceremonies in the parks...and that for all weddings I would have to use Disney photogs. :scared: Confused and annoyed I said fine, I wanted to go with SBP. She then told me my wedding party was too big for SBP. I ask what she meant and she said it only holds 18 people??:headache: Now I'm really annoyed. I ask if she ment Sunset point and she "no that place only holds 8"...I told her that we didn't have a place in mind and that I would talk to the coordinator when she called me tomorrow. Did anyone else have this trouble or am I just stupid. It was my understanding SBP holds 80 and I could use outside photog...

I'll update you guys when my coordinator calls.

yeah, i'm sure more will have better input than me...but that doesn't sound right at all!!!

I'd be confused too!!! Let us know what your co-ordinator says!!

The person you spoke to was only a receptionist (and clearly not a very competent one) and their job is to get your information to a sales manager. Don't worry, when you get assigned a coordinator they will help you through everything and answer all your questions. As you know from being here there are tons of brides who have had Epcot ceremonies and receptions. Start making a list of questions and in a few days your sales manager will call you.

Yeah she does not know what she is talking about, that is a shame.

Your coordinator will have better info..yes you can have more than 18 people at SBP and they still do epcot ceremonies. They are in the morning before the park opens.

I had a receptionist who didn't know what she was talking about either. That was unfortunate, because if I wasn't reading DISboards, I would have taken her comments and advice as the facts.

Speak with your wedding coordinator... We are also looking forward to getting a wedding planner soon! That's when the real idea generation and confirmations will happen.

We're doing about 30 people at SBP, so 18 is way off! Definitely don't worry about it, I'm sure your coordinator will set things straight.

Everything the receptionist told you is a bunch of malarkey. She was probably thinking of Sunset Pointe instead of SBP when she said that thing about 18, but not to have Epcot ceremonies?

Did you get her name? I would mention to your coordinator about all the mis-information she gave out.

The first time I called DFTW I got some woman that had no pep in her voice and was down right discouraging too. I called the following week and got someone much more exciting who was willing to answer my questions -However, some of her answers weren't on either. :confused3
I think it's all in who you get...but once you speak with a coordinator you should be ok.

They need to get their information right. If I didn't know better I would have thought the stuff she said was right.

wow she was totally off. I am having 34 people at SBP. As someone else said, maybe she was thinking of the poly location. Epcot does have ceremonies and I am just guessing they are told to tell people they can't use outside vendors to discourage it.
