Hello everyone! My husband and I will be in Disney World for our first anniversay in October. We got engaged in Disney World. had a Disney themed wedding (not in DW but back home) and had our honeymoon in DW. Whew! Anyways we will be in Disney for 4 days and on the Disney cruise for 4 days. Please help. Went to a few of the websites to look at the baskets they can put in your room but none of them appeal. Does anyone have pictures they can send of a small cake or cute "anniversary" basket? Thank you so very very very much in advance! Have a magical day! :earboy2:

Where are you staying? The GF bakery for a cost will make a mini cake for you. I think they can even match the one you had for your wedding. That is what I heard anyways. I would give them a call. I think that the Bakery at the Boardwalk (?) can do this to. I know for sure the GF bakery will.

Contact Feralpeg here on the Dis - she does the cutest little baskets of candy, etc., and would probably be able to help you with this. She recently made a beautiful display for my son and his DF to celebrate their engagement - complete with chocolate hearts and the Mouse ear veil, etc.

I was wondering the same thing. We are celebrating 5 years @ Disney and I would like to surprise him w/ a cake.

There is actually a thread going on at the resturaunt board about this. I think the Gf and BOARDWALK ARE THE 2 RESORTS THAT DO THIS SORT OF THING!

this would be such a wonderful idea to have a piece of our wedding cake again during our 1 year anniversary. it was so delicious. do you necessarily have to stay at GF to have a piece of your cake made?

We had a mini replica of our cake made for our one year anniversary as well. We had the GF Bakery do it (they are the ones that make all of the wedding cakes for Disney weddings). We just sent them pictures and a description of the cake and they gave us two prices—one for a 1 tier cake and one for a 2 tier cake. For what we wanted, I believe the 1 tier estimate was $40 and the 2 tier estimate was $80. We were staying at the Polynesian concierge when we had this done, so they delivered it for us. I think if you’re not staying concierge or at the GF, then you might have to pick it up yourself. We really enjoyed ours!

can we do this if we didn't have a disney wedding? I am also staying offsite so how would that work? is there a number i can call to get more info or a website.

thanks for the info ead79. i appreciate it. i'll look into having our cake made for our anniversary.

Question about the cakes:
I wanted to do this for my DH on our anniversary, as he was not a big fan of our wedding cake (I, on the other hand, thought it was delicious!). What he did not like was the whipped cream sort of icing. Can the mini wedding cakes be made with a standard icing?

Hmmm, all the wedding cakes from Disney that I have seen have been buttercream icing covered by fondant (the smooth looking stuff, but not too tasty). I would ask the GF bakery about other options. Gasp! I can’t imagine not liking buttercream icing, LOL!

I hear ya! But you can't trust my DH's taste ... he likes Beverly at Ice Station!

I think this is how it works...(i could be wrong though lol):

a. If you are staying at a monorail resort they can deliver it to your room from GF bakery

b. If you are eating at a GF restaurant they can deliver a mini cake to you after dinner (they are around 25$)

c. you can pick it up from the GF bakery mini wedding cakes or full sized cakes are available for pick up.

..in all 3 cases the cakes are made at the Gf bakery and AT LEAST 48+ hours notice is needed i believe the # is 407-824-2982

d. if you are stayiong @ the boardwalk inn or eating at the boardwalk their bakery can do the same as the GF bakery...I can not find that # but I am sure if u call wdw-dine they could give it too you!

Thanks for all they great ideas...I might just do a surprise thank you cake in august (since he is paying for the whole trip!) :flower:
