1st Anniversary Trip - October/November 2009

It is still on....I am such a bad Pre Trip Reporter! LOL

It's all good I was just checking through my subs and realized you hadn't updated in a while! Take your time!

Ok well since I am being forced into an update....LOL

I have set up a private dinner for my Dh and I on the night of our anniversary.

It will be on a private balcony of the Grand Floridian with a view of the Castle. We will have a butler to take care of all of our needs. I am so excited. I sent the Chef's a list of like and do not like foods and the created a five course menu just for us. Here is the Menu:

Appetizer to share:

Truffle French Toast with Shrimp & Wild Mushrooms

*** Pretzel Bread served with Soup and Salads***

For Lisa:

Cheddar Cheese Soup

Spinach Salad in Parmesan Bowl with Bacon & Hard Boiled Eggs, and Ranch Dressing

Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast with Mushroom Veloute (Cream Sauce), Caramelized Onion Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans

For Pete:

French Onion Soup

Field Greens Salad in a Parmesan Bowl with Feta Cheese, Cashews, & Citrus Vinaigrette

NY Strip with Red Wine Sauce, Caramelized Onion Mashed Potatoes, Balsamic Roasted Mushrooms and Asparagus

Special Wishes dessert from bakery & Mini Castle Cake in Cheesecake.

I am so excited about this surprise. It will be so romantic and a great way to Celebrete being married a year. They will serve desert right before WISHES. Ahhhh I can not wait!

I thought you'd disappeared off the face of the earth! That sounds like an amazing time. So romantic. I didn't even know they DID that. I guess Disney can do anything!!

No No I am here, just less since the wedding hype has died down! LOL Disney can do anything. The private dining is not cheap at all! $95 a person, $75 for the butler and then Taxes (6%) and Tip(18%).

I just can not imagine how sweet it will be to snuggle up with my honey and watch a private WISHES. It will be great! Plus you only have a 1st anniversary Once!

I figured it was not cheap. It is Disney after all! But it will be so worth it. Does he know about it or is it a surprise?

He knows that we are having a special Dinner, but he has no IDEA! I think he thinks we are going to Victoria & Alberts! LOL LOL...Won't he be surprised! I am sooo excited!

That sounds wonderful, I was going to do it for my DF for our honeymoon, but we're doing the dxddp so I don't want to spend anymore money on food. . .but a WDW 1st anni trip may be in order :goodvibes

Your menu looks awesome and is making me hungry :yay:

That sounds spectacular!!! Now I have the wheels turning for what we can do for our 10 year anniv (it's only 5 this year but by 10 I want to renew vows in WDW).

I would love to do a BIG vow renewal...Hmmm! Maybe 20 years at the wedding pavillion...LOL....with inflation it will be about 100K min.

My DH is so jealous that you are staying at the TreeHouses...can't wait to see pics!!!

The anniversary dinner is going to be amazing. :flower3: Maybe that is what I will do for our 10 year next year. We can't afford the vow renewal of my dreams just yet. :cutie:

Hi Lisa! I just found this!

Hey Dawn! Welcome to my Pre Trip Report...LOL! How are you...I miss ya!

Getting close to the day we can call to make our ADR's! YAY! I have been thinking about shirts for the Halloween Party! I also want to make Anniversary Shirts. I know what I want, I just can not find it anymore. HMMM!

To hold us over and get a Disney Fix We had a special Date night last Thursday.

So a week ago I found out that the Baltimore Symphony Orcestra was doing two nights of Disney Music. I thought the nights were Friday and Saturday. Pete said we could get tickets and I was excited. Then I found out it was only Friday night here in Baltimore and I was bummed. I was watching Alyssa on Friday night and there is an arts fest down near the Symphony Hall and I knew it would be messy. Well My sweet husband found out that the BSO was performing the Disney Show at the Strathmore Symphony Hall near DC. He bought us tickets and surprised me!

The Show was wonderful! They started off with a mix of Disney songs, zippity do da, Mickey Mouse March, Cinderella, a few other classics. I was already hooked. They had a hug screen showing movie clips and still drawings. Even inspiration drawings from Mary Poppins. Soon as I saw the Castle and heard the beginning of When you Wish Upon a Star I got teary eyed!

Then they did a Suite of Little Mermaid Songs. Followed by Hercules, Mary Poppins and the Beaty and the Beast. I think Beauty and the Beast was my favorite!

Then it was intermission. We walked around and checked out the venue. Soo nice.

We sat down ready for the 2nd half, but I took a few random pictures before that!

The second half started with Music from Aladdin, which was GREAT! Then a Suite from Mulan and The Hunchback of Notre Dame Suite, the set ended with Lion King. The whole night was wonderful! It is hard to pick my favorite!

*******All of these pictures were taken with my Palm Pre or Pete's iPhone. I wish I had the good camera with me.

Lisa, that sounds wonderful. How did you find out about it? I would love to see if they are doing something like that up in our area.

Linda
