1st/2nd week of December, AKV Kidani

Call me crazy, but if I could, we'd stay at SSR because we just love it. But AKV has higher room occupancy, and we will again be a party of 10 (including one under 3), in December of 2020.

We own at SSR. How hard is it to get a 2 bedroom standard at Kidani 7 months out for the beginning of December?

It's hard to get everything anywhere the first two weeks of December. Likely a better chance at a dedicated Savannah View - there are 27 dedicated Standards, and 113 dedicated Savannah View at Kidani. (All of the 2BRs at Jambo are lock-offs, and because they all involve studios, I think the chances at lock-offs those two weeks are rotten.

It really is any ones guess. Your best bet might be to book the THV at 11 months which fit 9 so that you at least secure something. Then try to switch to AK - kidani at 7 months. You could open options and also look at OKW. That time frame is very competitive with the season and points being so low -- things get snatched up quick.

The only worry would be to wait until 7 months to book but you might not get anything. But booking and then switching at 7 months also is risky because you have to wait until 9am and call MS - they need to cancel your original reservation (leaving you with nothing) then quickly book your desired 2BR. This is of course is if you only have points enough for the 2BR. If you have extra points where you could hold 2 reservations and cancel the one you don't need.

Another option would be to rent out your points via davids and then use those funds to rent the 2BR you want or to receive a transfer of AK points to book yourself.

It really is a numbers game at Kidani, and Kidani just has so many more Savannah View.

I recently switched from SSR to OKW, at 7 mos., but I went online to DVC daily to watch how the days the week before were being occupied. I then made my decision on what resort to go after! At 7:30 am I cancelled my SSR ressies (I had a studio and 2 br), then before 8 am made sure my points were back, I had to borrowed, and booked a 1br & 2 br at OKW! I could have gotten Kidani Savannah view for both but You have to be quick I didn’t want to chance it! You can do this all on DVC online at 8 am one hour before phones open up! Since I was borrowing I booked less points just in case at 11 mos. Your better off doing that when borrowing points! My dates are 12/9 for a week!

2nd week of Dec has been easier for me to book @ AKV after 11 month window has opened, not sure how it will flip @ 7 months.
