Anyone been ?

Looking to go for 13 days in August (having to go then because of DS being at school now)

We stayed in one before and loved the low points and the really nice savanaah view. We were very close to the elevators by the lobby and when going to the pool would just take the elevator down to the pool level, bypassing the lobby. I know we requested a specific room number that we stayed in before and we got it. The other time we also requested a specific room number and got the one right next to it and it was great too!
I can try to look up that room number.

If it's this August (2013), I hope your already booked as there are only 10 1-bedroom Values at AKV.

Ok, I was able to find it. We requested room 5110 that's a one bed value and 5112 is a value studio, when you need a 2 bed value, they put those two together.
Good luck!

What are the differences between value and standard view. I hear that value is smaller...does anyone know the actual SF of a value 2BR? And are they only located in Jambo and not in Kadani? That means 2 baths instead of 3, right? And what is below the 5th floor of Jambo house? TIA!

The Values only exist in Jambo House. A Value 2-bedroom is about 945 square feet and the other Jambo 2-bedrooms are about 1075 square feet. The 2-bedrooms in Kidani Village are about 1173 square feet. The lower floors at Jambo House are Animal Kingdom Lodge hotel rooms.

I'm looking to book a value studio for January. (AKV is my home resort) Are we able to request room numbers? I thought I had read a while back that they wont take the request to be on the savanna for the values, is that true? I have never made a room request before. Do we have to call to make the request or is that something we can do online? TIA!

My understanding is MS will not take any requests at all for the Value rooms. Not sure what options for location will be available (if any) during on-line check-in.

Last June, I was able to request a couple of room numbers for value studios I knew were savanna view. I didn't get either one, but ended up with an incredible pool view room. And of course, for all I know, the CM might not have even entered those requests, but he sure acted like he did. :rolleyes2

We stayed in 5004 and 5006 as 2-bedroom lock-off in Jambo last June with 6 adults (myself, DH, and 4 - 18 to 20 years old ). Technically, it was pool view but the trees were so over grown that we didn't really see anything. Loved the location as it was around the corner from the elevators - it felt very private. Since we were close to elevators, we were close to the lobby, the store, Mara, the pool and a short walk to the buses. We did have to go to the other viewing places to see the animals but that wasn't so bad. (The wireless access was hit or miss anyway in the room so I took the Kindle with me and walked to the lobby or outside) We didn't miss the 3 feet difference between the size of the value rooms and the regular rooms at all.
