1BR at Hilton Head

Been going to HH every April but always got a studio. This year we're getting a 1BR. Where are most of them located? Are there any our by the pool?

If I remember correctly, there are 21 1 BRs at HH. 16 of them are in the main lodge, and the other 5 are on the first floor of 5 different buildings. I'm not sure which buildings-I think #16, #18, #19, #27, #30????? We always ask for a 1 BR in the main building, preferably on the top floor, because that way we don't get loud footsteps above us, and I get to spend time cuddled in the couch at Big Murgie's Den, reading the local paper. (while eating some home made cookies). And since we always go off season, when sometimes it's too cold to swim, I don't know about proximity to the pool.

As noted, there are 21 1BR villas and 16 are in the lodge (Buildings 11/12) The other 5 are located beneath the GVs at the resort (Buildings 16,18,19,28 and 30) . None have a pool view, but many have marsh views.

They are great villas - larger than the onsite 1BRs except for OKW.

We've stayed in 1 BR at HH 3 different times. I'm with Simba's Mom - the ones in the main lodge (or next door) on the top floor are the best. We've been there twice and once under a Grand Villa. Under the Grand Villa was really, really loud. The view was nice from Bldg. 18 - but the noise was annoying!

I wonder why it's so loud under a GV. We stayed in GV once at HH with small kids and got several complaints about being too loud. We didn't know what to do as it was just the kids (1 & 2yrs old) being kids.

I don't really know what the problem is with the GV at HH. The people above us truly were not being rowdy or disrespectful of the guests below them. They were just walking around their villa - nothing out of the ordinary - but man was it loud! I've stayed in a 2BR in the building that looks at the back of the pool slide with someone above us and that building was pretty loud too! It didn't really bother me, but I had friends staying with me and all three of them commented on the loud neighbors.

Interesting. At the time I just thought the people below us were nit picking, but after reading several other comments about how loud it is I have to rethink that.
