Oooh, this thread is good!
True story......
I was the bridesmaid from the wedding from hell

Really!
First, I knew the bride 3 yrs before she got married.
When she was single, she told me she was going to marry her 1st or 2nd cousin. I was like, what??? She told me it was a cousin thru marriage. I was still in a little disbelief, thinking, "gee, I hope this is legal"
Anyways, the day before her wedding, I stayed at her parents house in northern Wisconsin(wedding was north of Green Bay, WI). Unfortunately, the upstairs of the house smelled really bad, like cow manure. Her mom passed away about 5 yrs before this, but her step-mom was living there with the bride's dad. I guess they forgot to clean the upstairs
Anyways, day of the wedding, everything went ok with the ceremony except the rings were missing! The best man forgot to bring in the wedding rings, so they had to use someone elses wedding rings to symbolize during hte ceremony. After ceremony was over, best man said he left wedding rings under a pile of laundry in trunk of the car

Finally the wedding rings were found
At the reception, get this, the band was a polka band
I don't mind polka that much, I can only handle so much of polka music tho.
Well, polka music went on for 5 hours

I thought, ok, maybe they will do 2 hrs of polka music and then do regular dance music of some sort. No, that never happened, all polka music til midnight! Got quite irritating

About halfway into the reception, the wedding party had to do the Grand March. I still don't understand what that is, but we kept getting delayed to do this, and I had to dance with one of the groomsmen for the Grand March(which I didn't care for him that much, he drank alot). We had to stand and wait at least an hour in another room to do the Grand March. My feet were killing me!
After reception was over, tradition is to shaving cream the bride and groom's car. Not a bad thing, so bridal party did that
Well, bride and groom were supposed to head to the hotel they were going to stay overnight. Found out the next day that bride and groom lost their reservations at the hotel(some big aviation weekend was going on and all rooms were booked at all the hotels in area). So they ended up in a cow field overnight
My girlfriend was never good at organization, so her and groom never confirmed the hotel reservations for the wedding night. Oh well....
Her and groom seemed ok about it tho.
Day after wedding, bride and groom had a gift opening party. Never heard of that for a wedding, but I guess it was a traditional thing in her family. Everything went well with that.
It was the craziest wedding I have ever been involved with, but husband and wife are still married, as far as I know. Wedding was August 1992.
My DH(was my boyfriend at the time) went with me to the wedding. He stayed at a Motel 6 over night. We both are still laughing about this crazy wedding
