I agree that people can spend their money on whatever they want to, but can you really blame people for thinking this is excessive? Especially in this economy when so many people are struggling to just put food on the table and a roof over their heads. I would feel so guilty to be throwing away money like that. Just for ONE DAY. The only thing that makes me feel a little better about people spending huge amounts of money on stuff is that it at least the money is going back into the economy. Again, I know that people can do whatever they want with their money, but IN MY OPINION spending $100K+ on a wedding is ridiculous.
And, btw, this should be a whole new thread but I AM a little bitter about rich people because many of them are no better, or smarter, or hard-working than the average person. Some of them really earn what they have, but many of them are just lucky and fell into the right job/profession or they happened to have rich parents who could send them to the right schools, or they even were just born into a family with money and do NOTHING for it. And many of them are just sleazy and dishonest and make their money doing things that arent in any way productive and, as we have painfully learned over the last couple of years, sometimes very harmful to society. And then they just love to flaunt their riches while other people are suffering. Phew, glad I got that off my chest.
