$198,000 Disney wedding at Sams club?!?

I attended a Disney wedding two months ago. I don't know all the details. but my guess is when all was said and done, it was 150K. There were about 125 people, including bridal party. I was beautiful-a wonderful experience. I happen to know that the father of the bride (who paid for everything) is self made-his parents (my aunt and uncle) were blue collar-my aunt never graduated HS, my uncle was a plumber. He paid his way through college, worked his way up and now owns his own company. More power to him for splurging on his only daughter.

Okay, but you can't tell me that couples who have 300 or 500 or 700 people at their weddings personally know and love each person attending. I doubt they could even identify all of them. This is still a from of making a "private covenant" a public spectacle. The couple wants to be the center of attention, show off wealth, get gifts, and then they expect everyone to remember their special day and go on at length about how it was "the best wedding ever!"

We invited 350+ people plus to our wedding. When you have a spouse who is the youngest of 8-his immediate family alone was almost 50! I have a big extended family. We married at 29 and 33 (dh), so also had lived many places and had friends from there. With family friends added to the mix, you can easily go up over 300.

my Disney Wedding was significantly less than that.....

Ours too. Like others said, it's because the ceremony is inside of the MK. My Wedding Pavilion wedding/GF reception/Epcot dessert party had 30 guests and was totally fabulous and I believe it was about $30,000 in 2005.

For the bride with more money than brains!

HAHA!! Yeah, very true. Seems like a really cool package.. but $200k? That's a HOUSE! Seems a little wasteful for one day.

Anywho, if this was a sweepstakes it would be cooler. To just buy this... ehh.. weird. To each his own.

We had a lovely Disney wedding for about $5,000. Wouldn't trade it for all the hoopla in that package for the world. :cloud9:
