2 weeks ago - I sent a letter to my inlaws written and mailed with a stamp. They leave FL. and head to NH. for 3 months every year and don't have email during that time. I added it to my DS's handwritten grad gift thank you note.

My DD and MIL correspond via written letter about once a month. DD likes getting mail and letter writing is good practice for her. Just wish my MIL would type, no one and I mean no one in the family can completely decipher her writing.:confused3

Just today.
I wrote a letter to my niece who is in basic training for the Air Force. :thumbsup2

I hope she's doing OK.

Last weekend. DH and I each wrote a letter to add to a box of gifts for my stepdd's birthday. We usually email her. I hope she can decipher her dad's handwriting. ;)

Does this count? I typed a letter to a long lost childhood friend in December. :rotfl2: I tried to write it but I was nervous writing it so my handwritting was shaky!!

If you put a stamp on it and put it in the mail box, yup - that counts.. :)

Friday.

I started to get birthday presents in the mail so I wrote out my thank-yous. My thank-yous are much longer than other peoples. They are more of a thank you letter.

I figure if they can shop for a gift, wrap it, buy a card, and then mail them out, the least I can do is pick out a nice card and wrtie back.

When my brother was in BootCamp training to be a Marine Sept -Nov that was the only way to have contact.

Now I will be writing to him b/c he is in Iraq for 7 months.

Next time you write, tell your brother I said "thank you" for keeping all of us back home safe..:lovestruc

Last time i wrote a letter to family or a friend was when the Pony Express delivered it!:goodvibes

I wrote a hand written letter to my niece 3 weeks ago. I didn't mail it since she lives a block away.

Well, I sent my mom a check (for my half of our room charge expenses in WDW) and wrote "Thanks!" on the envelope...

Before that was actually right before we left for WDW, when I sent out thank-yous for my birthday gifts from family that would prefer that to email...

A letter just because? (rather than a thank-you or something) I have no idea.

Friday-a dear friend of mine-more than one actually but this one is special-is in iraq-he and my husband are on opposite rotations and i have written letters to one of them weekly since March of 2003.

I write to my grandma every other month "just because". She is 88 and does not have a computer and is not interested in learning about the "Interwebs."

Well I will probably send it this week end after I buy the birthday card,. Its for an older cousin in Ohio and I really dont know if he has the internet. He has never given me an e mail address so I dont think he does. I usually e mail his sister anyway, but I send him a b day card and christmas card with a little note. He likes hearing about the ds.

I have an aunt I rarely see that I write a real letter to once or twice a year. Last year when my best friend was serving in Iraq I wrote to her often. She said e-mails were nice but nothing compared to receiving a paper letter!
