192 West - Food & Finds

We are staying at the Western end of 192 - OLCC and a pool villa in March. Anyone have any good tips for take-out/grocery/sit downs or shopping in this area? My dad just told me as long as there is a mall close buy for him to walk around he will be fine, but I don't recall seeing any in the area. Any tips to keep a 64 year old man happy in this area when we are having down days?

there is a drug store close enough to walk to from the West Side - but this is a gigantic resort...

You do realize that most places are too far to walk - that is why it has bus system at the resort....

No real mall around there to walk to. There are plenty of fastfood & resurants there. As far as grocery store, there is Publix & they are about the best in Fl.

From OLCC there are a few little cheesy strip malls he can walk to, but that's about it. The other poster is correct about Publix, they are great and about a mile, maybe two west on 192 from OLCC.

As far as fast food and take out, there's a Johnny Carrabas, the litany of Mc D's, Taco Bell, etc, etc. There's an Indian place right at 192 and Sherbeth.

No mall to speak of in the area yet, talk of one where splendid china was. There are 2 publix stores and plenty of food choices. There is a walmart not far on 27.
