I need some serious help, I called today to change an adr, due to my last name spelled on that changed adr, the cm checked my other adrs. While going over the adrs, she found out that the reserved 1900pf character dinner was changed to the gfc for the character dinner. I didnt ask if the 1900pf was going to be closed or what. Does anyone know? Can anyone give me info on gfc? I picked 1900pf for the buffett.(picky kids).
Is this a common practice? Is this due to the free dining program?
thanks

They will be rehabing 1900 dining room so they will serve a preplated meal in gfc dining room the menu is not available on any of the websites I frequent. I know it was mentioned on the boards but don't remember. If you call they maybe able to tell you.

I just booked 1900 PF during the refurb time for a breakfast. It will be a character meal still and serve all you can eat breakfast items but it will not be a buffett. It will be at Grand Floridian Cafe.

While on the phone I asked about dinner as well and she read me out a menu. Dinner will be character as well but instead of it being all you can eat it will be a pick from menu. You can call and they can read you the menu they have for that time frame.

Hope this helps.

No they will not be using gfc's menu they will use select preplated meals again I am not sure what they are and they are currently not posted b/c the menu hasn't changed.

ETA:Check out this link for menus as well http://allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm
the home page is allearsnet.com and they have great resort photos and menus as well as recipes and all things disney.

I got it!! Sorry, its late here, and it seems every free moment I have in the last couple of days, has been on this site and others booking adrs? I guess I can be somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to my family.
Just out of chance lets say i dont like the menu, where would you choose to go?
Going to be at mk, would like a character dinner, already have cm and cp.
thanks

we really like liberty tree tavern for dinner it does have characters it is family style~ turkey & stuffing, ham, carved beef, mashed potatoes, mac N cheese, and green beans as well as a salad and I see you are from LA so you will really like the rolls if you like french bread. Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge is another good choice if you like bbq the family can get the skillet. Ohana @ the Poly has a character breakfast that has lilo and stitch and mickey and friends.

I might go ahead and book wc. I cancelled it earlier to get boma.
We have enough character dinners anyway.(cm dinner and cp dinner) plus we are going to go to mnsshp!
Is wc fun for thw kids?

By the way I have to say I'm glad you were here to respond to my questions and help!(saw your signatures "a survivor")

Thanks,

We did lunch I would recommend breakfast or dinner b/c the cm we had said they do more antics for these two seatings than lunch (her words not mine). The highlight of our expierence was we were celebrating my mil's bday and they had her run around the room on a wooden stick pony singing happy bday to herself. You might want to check out the sticky thread of dining photos on the restaurant board at the top. Also do you have Ohana you might want to choose them if you don't think you kids will like the antics. We have always enjoyed dinner at ohana.

Here are a few picks from the dining sticky.
Here's a couple from Whispering Canyon:

This is the salad, coleslaw and corn bread

We knew that 1900 PF was being refurbed, but did not know that the meal would be preplated! I will have to call Disney Dining and see if I can get the menu. Thanks for the info

We have ADR's for breakfast here our first day & I knew it would be preplated but we had preplated meals at CRT & it was fine. I just figured it'd be very similar for breakfast. I can't really think of anything my family doesn't like on a breakfast menu. I'm just excited about having an excuse to go into the Grand Floridian. Any especially cool place we should check out in the common areas?

I dont get, I just called disney dinning reservations. They told me assorted salads and soups, a couple of appetizers did list three, four entrees did list the four choice then listed the four choices of dessert, but they dont have the childrens menu!!??
I have a bad feeling about this one!
I am going to try to keep it, because of the princess.

It is only Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy and Perla (the mice), you may want to try Akershus in Epcot for breakfast for a variety of princesses. Also the kids menus are pretty generic w/ small variations to restaurants. You might want to take a look at the other kids menus for dinner and you have some idea of what may be on the menu.

Called Disney dining and they read me the menu - only a few items (maybe 7 or so). We rescheduled to Chef Mickey's - much more variety of food - and we will reschedule Supercali breakfast for 2008.
