While we're still a ways off (just check out the ticker), our family is looking at character dining options. My niece will be 2.5 at the time of our trip, and we're clueless as to how she'll act with characters.

We've never been to 1900 park fare but think this may be a great way to introduce her to face characters. In your experience, what do you think of the meal? In regards to characters, do you think breakfast or dinner would be better for a little one?

Thanks for your help!!

I just got back with my 15 month old son.

We went to 1900 and he loved every minute of it. the characters are really good with children. They don't rush up to them, but ease their way to them. We did breakfast, Alice, mary poppins and the Mad Hatter. I haven't done dinner, but I do know the step sisters do play the part, but I am sure they too would ease their way to little one.

Plus the food here there is a lot of variety, lots to choose to give your little one.

We also went to Crystal Palace, it was our first character meal and he actually pushed Tigger away from him. The interesting thing is he became his favourite character. He would squeel with delite whenever he saw him anywhere, real or in a ride or in a photo.

My fav face character was Ariel at the castle - my son's hair was really wild that morning and she asked him if he needed a dinglehopper. :)

We took our daughter to 1900 for breakfast when she was just about to turn 2. She loved Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. She was neutral on Mary Poppins..kinda ignored her. She was terrified of the Mad Hatter. She really liked the face characters that were princesses that we had seen earlier in the trip...but had mixed emotions about Mary and the Mad Hatter.

We took our 18th month old twins ther in Dec we did dinner the kids and hubby liked the food They weren't into the face characters this time they loved all other characters . My daughter love dprince charming but screamed blody murder when Cinderalla came over and prince charming went to dance with her. You may do better for breakfast it has Mary Poppins, mad hatter, tigger, and pooh it has a better variety of characters and the food is better.

We really like the dinner buffet at 1900. Lots of yummy choice and the food is actually hot. you have to try the strawberry soup well it's not really a soup but so yummy. This dinner is part of our must do.

We have taken both of my kids as toddlers to 1900 and they loved it! The food is good, lots of choices and my DD loved meeting the characters. My son isn't quite as interested in princess or girl characters.

We went there during bfast and had a good time. Not as great as other places but it was good. DD was 1.5 at that time but she's had her character experience since she was 8mo.

Dinner has stepsisters and cinderella, evil stepmom and prince. Not sure if that's your niece's cup o tea.
Bfast on the other hand has british characters, alice, mad hatter, pooh, piglet, etc. I guess depends on which characters you think your niece would like.
Also, it's rare to mess up bfast buffet. Dinner however people have way too many different tastes.

Good luck and have fun!

We just took our son (3yrs) to 1900 PF breakfast in March and I was very impressed with the quality of the "face characters." DS was afraid of Tigger and Pooh at 13 months, but has gotten over that since. He met "face characters" at the age of 20 months when we took my neice to the princess breakfast but he wasn't very into it then. This time - wow! He had no idea really who Alice and the Mad Hatter were (he's never seen the movie) but he had long lively conversations with both of them. I'm not sure how often those cast memebers change, but I thought they (and Mary Poppins too) were some of the best at Disney.
