OK, from an atmosphere POV I can see where 1900 would probably win hands down, though isn't it still kind of neat to be eating where you can see the monorail zoom by??? (and as I understand it, the CS is going to move w/in the Contemporary sometime this year and that will no longer be the case)

I currently have an ADR for our night of arrival at Concourse steakhouse....and I have an ADR for 1900 on our last full night at WDW. Here's my dilema, if we get rained out of Fantasmic on our planned day, we will be going there on our last night and I'd want to change our 1900 PF to a H&V dinner pkg (if avail). I suppose we could keep the ADR and just leave MGM to have dinner at GF and come back. It's an early ADR (4:40pm) but w/out the FDPkg, I'm not sure we could get back to the park in time. DOn't you have to be in the stands 90mins early? And then that wait w/ 2 young kids??? :confused3 Is 1900 PF worth that????

For those who have eaten at both CS and 1900 for dinner, how would you compare the food?? We like the menu at CS, but I'm sure the buffet must have a nice selection.

TIA!

I just had dinner at 1900 on Sunday night. Here are some of the items on the buffet: 2 types of pasta or they would make something you would like, Prime Rib, Roasted Turkey breast, Salmon all at the carving station, caesar salad and regular with items you could add, mini spring rolls, peel & eat shrimp, various vegetables, strawberry soup, 3 types of rolls, mussels, pork loin, the kids section had pb&j, mac & cheese, chicken fingers they had mini cheesecakes, ice cream, brownies, choc chip cookies, apple brown betty all for desserts, they have m & m's and gummi bears to accompany the ice cream. I know i'm missing some things also, but they do have a great selection.

I have never eaten at the Concourse Steakhouse, so sorry couldn't compare the food. But I can say since 1st trying the dinner @ 1900 we go once a trip and we visit at least 4 times a year.

Have a great time.

How could you forget the Strawberry Soup???? :confused3 That's the main reason I go to 1900!!! I always have waaaaay too many bowls..... appetizer, dessert...

Never been to CS.

Both are IMO, 10 times better than H&V, package or no package. We dined there in April, shortly after dinner began (like 5:45). Food was awful, service non existent. DH stated, "wish I'd had a burger at the Backlot Express", it was that bad, not to mention pricy for what was on the buffet. Never again for us. We usually dine at least once every trip at the Concourse, in fact, we will be staying at Portofino Bay at US/IOA, we are actually having dinner at Concourse before the Halloween Party on the 5th, that's how much we enjoy the food there.

I had forgotten about the Strawberry soup. I've heard others rave about it. I guess I'll stick w/ my current ADRs. (I can't get 1900 PF on our arrival day though I could have moved CS to our last night) If we end up doing Fantasmic that night we'll just do it after a nice dinner at 1900PF. :goodvibes I'm sure w/ a 4:40 ADR (and we could arrive on the early side) we should be able to get back over to MGM in plenty of time. Just won't be a long lingering dinner. I'm looking forward to trying both restaurants.

I didn't forget the Strawberry soup it was on the list.

Both restaurants are really good. They are my two top Disney places to eat, in fact! Be warned, though, you might not see the monorail 'zoom' by as not all tables have a view of it. If that's important to you, make sure to tell them when you check in. Enjoy both places!
