Hi there,

I've really enjoyed reading all your reviews, tips, opinions, etc. We are going for our first family trip in mid-October. We are going with friends and we will be celebrating a 2nd and 36th birthday in our group. We already have plans to go to CM for breakfast at the beginning of our trip to celebrate the 2 yr old's Bday. I'd like to "surprise" our friend for his 36th Bday by taking him and his family to another character meal at the end of our trip. We can only go to one that day that is NOT within a theme park. We are planning on just relaxing that day and shopping in the Downtown Disney area.

OK...sorry for the long explaination. Basically I'm asking your opinion of 1900 Park Fare....breakfast or dinner? Any other suggestions for that day? We would love to see Mary Poppins and the Pooh characters for breakfast (kids won't know who Alice is...and personally, that Disney movie scared me), but we would also love to see Cinderella of course.

Thanks!!! Margo

We haven't been yet, but we are celebrating my 2 older boys (will be 24 and 23 on trip) birthday at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. But mainly because Mary Poppins will be there.

I've only been there for breakfast so I can't speak for the dinner buffet. The food was very good...nice buffet with a lot of choices. The only characters I remember were Mary Poppins, Alice, Gephetto, and maybe Pinnochio...no Pooh characters. I'm sure whatever you decide will be a wonderful birthday surprise for your friend!

Sorry I havn't been yet either, in March we will be doing the dinner, With Cinderella,Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother, and Suzy and Perla!!! Either way I heard the food was very good there. So I guess it depends on which characters you want to see.

We just ate dinner there last Fri and the Cinderella family were so graceful. The food is very good too. There is prime rib, chicken marsala, several meats, salads, deserts and a childrens buffet. The characters go to each table. We are taking our family for a mid - Oct Birthday trip. I am ordering a cake with Cinderella's slipper on it. I did not see anyone with that on this visit but there is a Birthday thread with pictures of the cakes on it. Most of the little girls were dressed in Princess dresses and crowns. It was a lot of fun.

i love the dinner buffet at park fare, the pasta station is so good :cloud9: i have 3 girls so they love dressing up like princess's and dining with cinderella and prince charming. we always make a visit here for dinner every trip and have never been disappointed. also if you plan your ressie for around 7:30-8:00 you should be able to walk out to the beach and catch the electrical water pagent and wishes. it is a nice way to end the night.

I say do the dinner as well. Everything was delicious when I was there in November last year.

... for Breakfast. Sorry to say, no Mary Poppins. Sniff. There was Alice, the Mad Hatter, Tigger and Pooh. Strange mix if you ask me.
So don't count on seeing Mary if you go for BF.

We haven't done the breakfast, but our dinner was great. Our server was really wonderful and we loved the food. Nice variety. My DH liked the prime rib that they hand cut to your requested thickness. And even though it was really crowded, Cinderella came around a few times to talk with DD during dinner which she loved (Prince Charming was only around once though). I liked the pager they gave us that lit up when our table was ready. We were able to look around the GF lobby a bit before being seated. We were lucky enough to get ressies for Christmas night dinner this year. I say go for dinner.

Thanks for all your input! :cool1:

I decided to go for the dinner...I hope I can get in. I will also plan on ordering a cake!

Good Choice!!!

We have a breakfast booked.. mainly because of Mary Poppins. I didn't realize she might not be there. I mean, I know they say the characters can vary, but I thought she was sort of a 'regular' ..
Hmm.. maybe we should switch to dinner?

We've now had dinner there several times and loved it! We are trying it for my DD 7th birthday on the 19th for brakfast (our first time) I would have done dinner but we are actually flying out at 2 p.m. that day.

I would do the dinner. :cloud9: You are pretty much guaranteed to see Cindy, the Prince, and the 2 mice. Just so you know, we have had dinner there twice now and have yet to see FGM. It maybe because we always eat fairly late. I think she leaves early. Also, last time (Jan. 06) we had a surprise visit from Aurora. According the our server, Michael, this was highly unusual.

Also, depending on how crowded it is when you go, the mice come around more than once. (Cindy and Prince do not) and my DD enjoyed dancing around with them. Your 2 y/o will probably enjoy them too! :thumbsup2

Mary is usually there at breakfast. She always is when we have eaten there. Maybe you could call that day to make sure. Maybe she called in sick.
Breakfast is awesome there, we eat there everytime we go, sometimes twice. Haven't had dinner yet, but maybe we will in December. It's there or Chef Mickey's.
