Have a reservation here in August....have heard mixed reviews. Please give your reasons for liking or loathing!!

My kids really liked the characters...we do not go to character buffets expecting stellar food. I would go back again

Sorry but your gonna have to be more specific.....do you mean for breakfast or dinner??? Both are very different! Breakfast is with mad hatter/alice/pooh etc...dinner is with cinderella/step sisters etc.

I went for dinner. The characters are A RIOT! Step sisters are soooo funny! Glad I went, but because of the food, i wouldnt go back. Awful (minimal) selection that night. I know they change the theme up sometimes. That particular night it was gross. I was really disappointed.

We have been to breakfast and dinner, wouldnt go back to either because the food was awful

Now when we went in June 2008 we did the dinner there AND breakfast the next morning. Characters were wonderful, and honestly, I was very happy with the food. The buffet, during both meals, was FULL. There was a very wide variety and everything we tried was great EXCEPT I think I remember DH getting some steak (dinner buffet) that was a little on the tough side. Aside, from that we were impressed.

We like both breakfast and dinner. The interaction with the stepsisters at dinner is funny, amusing. Food - probably a step above your normal buffet. We did this buffet 4 trips in a row.

We went for dinner and thought the food was barely edible. The prime rib was gray and cooked within an inch of oblivian. Even when they cut into a new one straight down the middle there wasn't a hint of pink.

I am not sure what the big deal is about the strawberry soup. It tasted like melted strawberry ice cream.

I go to 1900 Park Fare every trip, but I go to just about all of the character meals every trip. This one is near the bottom of my list.

The food is good, not stellar or gourmet, but it is okay.

I do not like the dining room. It's too big and lacks ambience.

Also, the character interactions were not that great. I did like the Mad Hatter and Alice at breakfast. They were wonderful and funny! I loved how they interacted with each other. The other characters at breakfast (Pooh, etc.) just signed our autograph book and quickly left.

Everyone raves about the Wicked Stepsisters at dinner, and I am sure that they are wonderful, too, because I have seen them at the theme park, and they are a riot. But the night we had dinner, we were stuck in a corner. We could hear the hoopla, everytime the main characters were introduced, but we could not see anything.

I kept waiting for some kind of show or something. We stayed far longer than we needed, all because I was waiting to see something. I could hear things going on in the center of the room, but the way it was set up, I could not see or understand what was being said. The characters came by for a quick autograph, but it was rushed. We were their last stop before they left the room for a short break, and I could tell they were in a hurry. We waited for them to come around a second time, and it was just a repeat of the same experience (which was nothing), so we left. I was disappointed.

I guess it must depend on the day. We went for dinner a couple of years ago in August. The stepsisters were great as were all of the characters. The food was good. It is a fun meal but on the loud side. We enjoyed it. have a great trip!

We went a couple weeks ago for dinner. I am not buffet person and don't generally like to eat at chain restaurants and I thought the food was good. I loved the salads, nice variety. I ate some of the roast and it was pink and cooked great.

We were not happy with our table, it was kind of a side room so its like we missed seeing the stuff in the middle of the room unless we stood up and went to look...but the characters were great. They spent lots of time with us and Prince Charming even danced with my DD. It was so cute.

We also did lunch at CP the day before which we also enjoyed, esp the salads.

Even with our bad table we loved it. Good food, nice wine selection and fun characters. We had originally had reservations at CRT, but at the last minute we added one person to our trip and no room at CRT, so we picked PF. I was happy with it.

I do think the room could be made a little more elegant, its kind of stark looking or something...but the entertainment made up for it.

1900 PF used to have the best breakfast buffet. Haven't been there for maybe 8 years, it may have changed. I've heard some pretty tough reviews for dinner there.:earsboy:

Im so with you on the strawberry soup! It does taste good I suppose, but i wasnt sure what to do with it. It seemed weird to drink it with a spoon, or from a cup. I took one sip and put it aside. Dont think i'll be getting it again unless i pour some over a dessert or something like that.

There have been report that they not longer have the soft serve ice cream machine.

Denise in MI

My family went to dinner there during the first week of July. Half the family went on one night and the other on another night (long story ... lol) -- at any rate, there was NO soft serve ice cream on either night.

The desserts were definitely lacking. They had brownies ... but without the ice cream they were pretty dry. There were maybe two other desserts that were not so great.

The regular food was pretty good ... the roast beef not so much ... too dry and overcooked for my taste.

We really like the breakfast but not so much the dinner. We loved the Mad Hatter at breakfast plus the made to order omeletts...Mmmmm. The dinner was o.k. but the character interaction was subpar (maybe it was an off day for them), the only character that spent some time at our table was the Prince, of course I didn't mind :goodvibes

Went for dinner, and probably won't be back.

1) Poor selection of food - not many options
2) Definitely the loudest/most hectic/crowded character buffet I've been to
3) Long wait past ADR time
4) Long wait for characters to make their way around to the tables

The food isn't great, you need to allow a LOT of time (moreso than any other buffet I've been to) to see all the characters, and while they're good, I don't think they're fabulous enough to make this meal worth it.

If you're in MK, I highly suggest Crystal Palace for a good character meal. If you're looking for princesses, Akershus in Epcot has great food AND great character interaction.

We've been twice for dinner, the most recent time being June 25th. It's a buffet. I can't say I've ever had spectacular food at any buffet I've been to (whether or WDW property or not). There are some good items, and my DD could have all the pizza she could stomach (which, come to think of it, I think she ate at least half a pizza...and a bit of broccoli soup...and she's not much of an eater.) There are two carved meats, but I wasn't too concerned about that. There were several desserts to choose from.

But...

There were these mashed potatoes. I couldn't keep away from them... I mean...really? Addictive mashed potatoes? Yeah... Well, maybe they just slipped something into mine or something, because I really, really liked them (even had some after a taste of what they had for dessert.) Wow.

But who goes to a buffet for the mashed potatoes?

Well, I was on the fence about 1900 PF too. I was thinking of booking dinner there for our family trip in Feb. for the benefit of my young nieces....however, there will also be 8 adults in the dining party and if the food really is unimpressive, than I'll just skip ADR's here.

we ate dinner at 1900 in early june and really enjoyed it:)
my 3 dgd's were dressed as Cinderella and her stepsisters. the interaction was great and the food was good, me and the dgd's are picky eaters.there was plenty of choice for all 7 of us and all left happy and full!
the dining room was big but there wasn't alot of room between the tables for walking, but to my way of thinking that helps get more prince and princesses in to see the royal family and that is worth it to me!:lovestruc
the girls truely loved Lady Tramaine and her attitude!

we would go back again!

Character interaction is the only good thing about 1900PF imho. I could hardly eat the last time I was there and neither could any one else in my party. The service was pretty terrible too.
